Overview
ISANA Mountain Villa offers a private hilltop escape at the foot of Mount Omuro in Izu Kogen. Wide windows and an outdoor terrace open toward a 180-degree panorama of the sea, surrounding mountains, and garden, with sunrise bringing the landscape to life each morning.
Reserved for one group at a time, the villa gives you the freedom to set your own pace. Prepare meals together, enjoy a charcoal BBQ, soak in your private natural hot spring bath, or spend the day reading and taking in the view. With 100 square metres of space, it works especially well for longer stays, small group trips, couples, and time away with your dog.
The property was fully renovated and refurnished in 2020, creating a bright and comfortable base surrounded by the natural scenery of Izu.
Accommodation
The 100㎡ villa accommodates up to six adults, or four adults and two children. Sleeping arrangements include two single beds, one sofa bed, and two futon sets, giving you flexibility when travelling as a couple, family, or small group.
A spacious living and dining area creates a natural gathering place, while the dedicated workspace and free Wi-Fi make longer visits or working stays easier. The interior connects directly to the terrace, where you can sit outside and enjoy the sea, mountains, and garden.
The villa also includes air conditioning, heating, television, a washing and drying machine, a private bathroom, and a full kitchen. Towels, slippers, a hairdryer, toiletries, cleansing products, skin lotion, and milk lotion are provided.
Check-in is available from 15:00 to 22:00, and check-out is by 11:00. Arrivals after 19:00 can use self-check-in when arranged in advance.
Dining
ISANA Mountain Villa is a self-catering property, giving you complete freedom over when and what you eat. The full kitchen includes cooking space, pots, pans, oil, salt, pepper, and the basic equipment needed to prepare meals during your stay.
Outdoor dining is one of the villa’s highlights. The terrace includes outdoor furniture, a kitchen area, and access to a charcoal BBQ. When you bring your own charcoal, use of the BBQ equipment costs ¥1,000 for up to four people, with an additional ¥300 for each extra person. A charcoal package is also available for ¥1,500 for up to four people, plus ¥300 for each additional person.
A pizza oven is available free of charge, including firewood. Guidance is provided on the day, making it easy to try even if you have never used a wood-fired oven before. Bring your own dough, toppings, food, and drinks.
Meals are not normally provided at the villa. For a special evening, an optional French kaiseki dinner can be arranged at ISANA Resort for ¥10,000 per adult. Reservations are required at least three days in advance, and availability is limited to 12 people per day.
Onsen and wellness
The villa includes a private indoor bath supplied with 100% free-flowing natural hot spring water. The spring is classified as a calcium sulfate hot spring, and the stainless-steel bathtub holds warmth well during the colder months.
Because the bath belongs entirely to your group, you can enjoy the water without sharing the space or following public bathing rules. The quiet surroundings and private setting make it easy to slow down after hiking, sightseeing, or travelling through Izu.
The hot spring does not operate around the clock. On weekdays, water is supplied from check-in until midnight and begins flowing again from 14:00 the following day. On Saturdays, public holidays, and consecutive holiday periods, morning service resumes from 6:00.
You can also reserve one complimentary visit to the private large bath at ISANA Resort during your stay. Advance booking is required.
Guests with tattoos
Tattoos are accepted in the villa’s private natural hot spring bath. The bathing area is reserved entirely for your group.

When you want to explore, Izu Kogen offers some of the peninsula’s best-known natural attractions. Mount Omuro brings open views from its volcanic summit, while Izu Shaboten Zoo is known for its animals, cactus gardens, and winter capybara baths.
Jogasaki Coast offers dramatic cliffs, coastal hiking, and the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge. Lake Ippeki provides a gentler setting for walking and seasonal scenery, while Izu Granpal Park combines daytime activities with evening illuminations during selected periods.
A car or taxi makes sightseeing and shopping easier. The villa does not provide a shuttle service, so plan your transport before arrival.
