Overview

Stay beside the Tama River at Okutama Seiryu Resort KAMENOI HOTEL OME, a riverside hot spring hotel in western Tokyo. The elevated position gives you views across the river, Kamanofuchi Park, and the mountains leading toward Okutama.

The hotel completed a major renovation in April 2025, introducing new family accommodation, larger rooms, four dog-friendly room types, a redesigned restaurant and lobby, and a semi-open-air hot spring bath. You can now choose between compact rooms for a solo trip, river-facing rooms, Japanese accommodation for a group, an accessible room, a room with a private open-air bath, and suites where you can stay with your dog.

Central Tokyo remains within easy reach. The train journey from Shinjuku to Ome takes around one hour, followed by a complimentary hotel shuttle or a walk from the station. This makes the property suitable for a short nature break without leaving Tokyo Prefecture.

Accommodation

The hotel has 13 room types, many of which look toward the Tama River or the mountains of Okutama. Every room is non-smoking and includes free Wi-Fi, a television, refrigerator, safe, hair dryer, towels, a toothbrush, slippers, and a washlet toilet. Yukata and additional personal items are available from the amenity area near reception.

The 32-square-metre Family Room accommodates up to four people and comes in twin, triple, and four-bed arrangements. Natural colours, indirect lighting, and a river view create a warm setting for time together. The room has a combined bathroom and toilet, and a daybed or stacking bed is added when four people stay.

The Comfort Room also measures 32 square metres and accommodates up to three people. Twin and triple layouts are available, and the room includes a private bathroom. Open the window to hear the Tama River flowing below.

The 32-square-metre Superior Room accommodates up to four people with two main beds, a child’s bed, and a sofa bed. Its bathroom and toilet are separate, giving you more flexibility when several people prepare at the same time.

The Deluxe Japanese-Western Room measures 50 square metres and accommodates up to five people. It combines beds with a six-tatami Japanese area and includes a private open-air bath. The bath allows you to enjoy fresh air in privacy, but it uses regular heated water rather than natural hot spring water.

The 33-square-metre Japanese Modern Room has two beds and Japanese design details. It accommodates up to three people and suits you when you prefer beds but still want the atmosphere of a Japanese room.

The Riverfront Room also measures 33 square metres and accommodates up to four people with the addition of a sofa bed. It includes a private shower booth and views across both the Tama River and the surrounding mountains.

The 42-square-metre Accessible Room has a flat interior, wide doors, two beds, and a private bathroom. Up to four people can stay, making it suitable when you use a wheelchair or require more space for movement.

The Standard Triple measures 23 square metres and provides three beds in a step-free room. The compact Double Room has one semi-double bed and a private bathroom, making it a practical choice for a solo stay or a shorter visit.

The ten-tatami Japanese Room measures 38 square metres and accommodates up to five people on futons. The Japanese-Western Room measures 42 square metres and combines two beds with a six-tatami area where additional futons can be prepared.

Four dog-friendly room categories opened in 2025. A dedicated entrance separates these rooms from the hotel’s main accommodation areas, allowing you to reach your room with your dog on a lead.

The 57-square-metre Premium Dog-Friendly Room accommodates up to four people and includes a private dry sauna inside the bathroom. The 40-square-metre Superior Dog-Friendly Room offers a simpler layout for up to four people.

The 60-square-metre Accessible Suite and 63-square-metre Deluxe Suite each include a private dog run. Both accommodate up to four people and have separate bathrooms and toilets. The Accessible Suite also has a step-free layout.

Dog equipment includes a cage, toilet sheets, waste bags, cleaning items, food and water bowls, and other useful supplies. Your dog must sleep inside the cage rather than on the beds or futons.

Dining

Dinner is a Japanese kaiseki meal built around Tokyo ingredients and cooking traditions that developed during the Edo period. The restaurant faces west across the Tama River, allowing you to watch the evening light change over the landscape during dinner.

Local ingredients include Akigawa beef, Ome pork, Edo-Tokyo vegetables, river fish, seasonal seafood, and soba. Akigawa beef comes only in A4 and A5 grades, while Ome pork is known for its sweet fat and soft texture.

Dinner choices range from a seasonal introductory course to higher-grade kaiseki menus. Depending on your plan and the time of year, dishes may include Akigawa beef and soba shabu-shabu, Edo-style negima hot pot, salt-grilled sweetfish, Tokyo vegetables, sashimi, steamed dishes, Fukagawa rice, and desserts made with local sake lees or Sayama tea.

Soba appears throughout the dinner selection. Some courses serve it in a shabu-shabu style with Akigawa beef and seasonal vegetables, while others finish with chilled or warm soba.

Breakfast is a Japanese set meal rather than a buffet. The selection may include Tokyo Bay fish, rolled egg, vegetable side dishes, yuba and buckwheat salad, rice, pickles, Ome pork soup, and slowly braised Ome pork.

Breakfast is served from 6:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Dinner runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with the final order at 8:00 p.m.

Complimentary late-night dandan noodles are available from 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Red Sichuan, white sesame, and black sesame recipes rotate each month, and you receive one small serving during your stay.

When you stay in a dog-friendly room, selected plans let you enjoy dinner inside your room with your dog. The hotel does not prepare food for dogs, so you need to bring the food your dog normally eats.

Food allergies require advance notice. The kitchen can adjust selected dishes, but all food is prepared in shared areas, so complete allergen removal cannot be guaranteed.

Onsen and Wellness

The seventh-floor bathing area uses natural water from Ome Ayumi no Yu. The source has a pH of 9.9, giving the water a distinctly alkaline quality and a smooth feel against the skin.

The spring meets Japan’s legal definition of hot spring water through its fluorine and metaboric acid content. The official information does not classify it as a simple alkaline spring.

Large windows in the observation bath look across the Tama River and the mountains of Okutama. The changing landscape becomes part of the bath, from spring greenery and summer forest to autumn colour and clear winter views.

A semi-open-air bath opened during the April 2025 renovation. Its covered design lets you feel the outside air while remaining protected from most rain and changing weather.

The two bathing sides switch between men and women during the morning. You can use the baths from 3:00 p.m. until midnight and again from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Day bathing is offered in two sessions. The daytime session runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with final admission at 2:00 p.m. The evening session runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with final admission at 8:00 p.m.

There is no reservable private onsen. The Deluxe Japanese-Western Room has a private open-air bath, but it uses regular heated water. Other rooms with private bathrooms or showers also use regular water.

SPA OJAS on the third floor offers oil treatments, head spa services, and other body treatments. It normally opens from noon until early evening and closes on Mondays and Thursdays.

Guests with Tattoos

You cannot enter the communal indoor bath or semi-open-air hot spring bath when you have tattoos.

This restriction includes fashion tattoos, small one-point tattoos, tattoo-style seals, and tattoos covered with stickers. Covering the tattoo does not provide access to the communal onsen.

The hotel does not have a reservable private onsen.

Facilities

The river-facing lounge gives you space to sit with coffee, soft drinks, or an alcoholic drink. It opens in the afternoon and evening, then reopens the following morning. Drinks carry an additional charge.

The shop sells local sweets, Ome crackers, wasabi products, towels, Sawanoi sake from Ozawa Brewery, dog treats, and useful travel items. It opens from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Table tennis is available from morning until late evening. You reserve a table for a timed paid session, giving you an easy indoor activity after dinner or during poor weather.

SPA OJAS provides head and oil treatments on the third floor. The hotel also has spaces for dining, group meals, and organised gatherings.

Secure cycle stands are installed inside the underground parking area for road bikes, cross bikes, and mountain bikes. Around five bicycles can be stored, and the parking area is locked overnight.

Baby equipment includes baths, bathing chairs, changing beds, restaurant chairs, diaper bins, and toilet-seat supports. The restaurant can also warm sealed baby food.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. All indoor areas are non-smoking apart from the designated smoking space.

Free parking is available for 94 vehicles, including 13 indoor underground spaces. Two charging points are provided for electric vehicles.

Activities

Kamanofuchi Park lies directly in front of the hotel. Lawns, trees, riverside paths, and bridges make it suitable for an easy morning walk, an evening stroll, or time outside with your dog.

Travel to Mt. Mitake for hiking and a visit to Musashi Mitake Shrine. A cable car covers part of the climb, while marked trails lead through the forest and around the mountain village.

Mitake Valley is known for its clear water, fresh spring greenery, and autumn leaves. You can walk beside the river or arrange outdoor experiences such as rafting, fishing, canoeing, bouldering, and stand-up paddleboarding.

The hotel works with local activity providers for rafting, SUP, two-person ducky boats, fishing, and dog-friendly SUP experiences. Selected plans include a one-way transfer from the hotel and equipment such as water shoes and towels.

A soba-making activity takes place on selected Saturdays. An instructor guides you through preparing the noodles, which are then served as part of your dinner. Advance booking is required.

Ozawa Brewery stands around 15 minutes away by car beside Mitake Valley. You can learn about the production of Sawanoi sake, visit the garden and shop, or join a tasting. Selected hotel plans include a tasting benefit and one-way transport after check-out.

Wonderful Nature Village offers dog runs divided by size, a dog pool, walking trails, fishing, camping, and BBQ facilities. It is around 20 minutes away by car and works well when travelling with your dog.

Other choices include the reopened Ome Railway Park, the seasonal irises at Fukiage Shobu Park, and Tokyo Summerland, which is around 25 minutes away by car.

Additional Features

Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m., and check-out is by 10:00 a.m.

The hotel is around 20 minutes on foot from JR Ome Station. A complimentary shuttle completes the journey in approximately ten minutes according to its scheduled timetable.

You can also take a local bus from Ome Station and leave at Kyodo Hakubutsukan Iriguchi, followed by a walk of around two minutes.

By car, the hotel is approximately 20 minutes from either Ome Interchange or Hinode Interchange under normal traffic conditions.

Dog-friendly rooms accept up to two small or medium dogs with a maximum weight of 15 kilograms each. The first-floor rooms with private dog runs can accept one large dog instead.

Your dog must be at least one year old, live mainly indoors, and have current rabies and combination vaccination records. Dogs in heat, pregnant dogs, and dogs with infectious conditions cannot stay.

You cannot leave your dog alone in the room while you go out. A lead is required outside the room, and your dog must use the dedicated accommodation entrance and permitted routes.
