Overview
Yunami no Yado Kameya Rakukan brings ocean views and traditional hot spring bathing together on the Ito waterfront. Sagami Bay stretches out in front of the property, creating a striking backdrop from sunrise through to the evening light.
JR Ito Station is only about 3 minutes away on foot, so you can arrive easily and begin relaxing almost at once. Ito Orange Beach, local shopping streets, and the centre of the hot spring town are also close by.
The main attraction is the choice of seven baths. You can soak in a large public bath, enjoy a free family bath, reserve an ocean-view private bath, or choose one of the two special rooms with its own open-air bath. This flexibility makes Kameya Rakukan a comfortable choice for couples, solo travel, families, and short seaside breaks.
Accommodation
Kameya Rakukan has 46 Japanese-style rooms ranging from 6 to 12 tatami mats. Ocean-facing rooms let you watch the changing colours of Sagami Bay, while town-facing rooms provide a practical option when location and value matter most.
For a more private onsen experience, choose Yuunagi or Shinonome. These two non-smoking rooms sit on the sixth floor of the annex and include private open-air baths overlooking the sea. From the room and bath, you can look toward Hatsushima Island and the uninhabited Teishijima Island.
Other choices include 6-tatami and 10-tatami ocean-view rooms with private bathrooms, spacious 12-tatami town-view rooms, and simpler rooms without a private bath. One lower-floor room category does not include a private bathroom or toilet, so check the selected room details when booking.
Rooms include air conditioning and heating, television, refrigerator, electric kettle, tea set, safe, hairdryer, yukata, towels, and toiletries. Futons are prepared before arrival, allowing you to settle in and rest immediately.
Check-in begins at 15:00, and check-out is by 10:00.
Dining
Kameya Rakukan currently focuses on room-only accommodation and does not serve breakfast or dinner. This gives you the freedom to explore Ito’s local restaurants and cafés without planning your evening around set dining times.
Yunohana-dori and Kinema-dori shopping streets are within walking distance, placing casual dining and local shops close to the property. You can enjoy dinner in town, take an evening walk near the waterfront, and return for another hot spring soak before bed.
Onsen and wellness
Seven baths give you several ways to experience Ito Onsen. The water is classified as a weakly alkaline simple hot spring. Some baths use a combination of flowing spring water and circulation to maintain temperature and bathing conditions.
Four private baths overlook Sagami Bay. On the annex rooftop, Manten no Yu includes Orihime and Hikoboshi, where open sky and sea views create a memorable bathing setting. On the third floor of the main building, Gunjou no Yu includes Hatsushima, made with Izu stone, and Teishijima, with a Shigaraki ceramic tub.
The two large public baths each offer a different atmosphere. Shinkai sits on the basement level of the annex and has a darker, cave-inspired design. Ginga occupies the sixth floor of the main building, with views across Ito toward Mount Omuro and the Amagi mountains. The men’s and women’s sides change at 2:00.
Sango is a free family bath for overnight stays. You do not need to reserve it and can enter when it is available. Rooms with private bathrooms also use hot spring water.
Guests with tattoos
If you have tattoos, you can enjoy the free family bath or one of the reservable private baths. Yuunagi and Shinonome also include private open-air baths inside the room, giving you complete privacy throughout your soak.
Facilities
Kameya Rakukan keeps its facilities focused on an easy hot spring stay. You have access to two public baths, four reservable ocean-view private baths, a free family bath, vending machines, a small game corner, and massage services.
Free parking is available for up to 30 cars. During the summer period, parking use is available from 12:00 on the day of arrival until 12:00 on the day of departure. The short walk from JR Ito Station also makes the property convenient without a car.
Activities
The waterfront location makes it easy to combine hot spring bathing with time around central Ito. Walk beside Ito Orange Beach, explore Yunohana-dori and Kinema-dori, or visit Tokai-kan to see historic Japanese architecture connected to the city’s ryokan culture.
Ito also hosts seasonal seaside fireworks, especially during summer. The waterfront atmosphere becomes livelier on event evenings, while ocean-facing rooms and private baths keep you close to the coastal setting.
For a longer outing, you can travel toward Mount Omuro, Jogasaki Coast, Lake Ippeki, or the Izu Kogen area before returning to Ito for an evening bath.
