Overview

Stay close to Lake Yamanaka in a fully private glamping space designed for outdoor time, easy cooking, and personal wellness. Mt FUJI RESORT GLAMPING Yamanakako opened in May 2025 with only five units, giving you more privacy than a large campsite. Three Mountain View units face Mount Fuji, while two Standard units offer the same spacious layout and private facilities.

Lake Yamanaka is around three minutes away on foot, and you can reach the site in approximately 20 minutes by car from Mt. Fuji Station. After exploring the lake and surrounding countryside, you can return to your own sauna, cold plunge, semi-open-air bath, indoor BBQ area, and terrace fire pit.

Accommodation

Each private unit covers approximately 126 square metres and separates your sleeping, dining, bathing, and outdoor areas. Your 28-square-metre dome bedroom includes four single beds made by France Bed, giving you a comfortable place to rest beneath the high curved ceiling. Air conditioning, power outlets, extension cords, and lanterns help you enjoy the outdoor atmosphere without giving up everyday convenience.

You can choose from two Standard domes or three Mountain View domes. The Mountain View category gives you a direct view of Mount Fuji when the weather is clear, allowing you to watch the mountain from inside your dome or private outdoor space.

A separate 19-square-metre living room includes a dining table, indoor gas BBQ grill, large refrigerator, air purifier, and 50-inch Android television. You can sign in to your own Netflix, Hulu, or YouTube account when you want a quiet evening indoors.

Your unit also includes a private kitchen, two-person shower booth, washlet toilet, semi-open-air bath, Finnish-style sauna, cold plunge, and artificial-grass terrace. The living room and bedroom have heating and cooling, making the space suitable for stays throughout the year.

Dining

There is no restaurant or meal-inclusive plan, so you can bring all your preferred food and drinks. Your private kitchen includes a microwave, rice cooker, electric kettle, frying pan, saucepan, knives, cutting boards, cooking chopsticks, tongs, spatulas, bowls, a colander, peeler, and wine opener. Plates, bowls, cups, glasses, wine glasses, and cutlery are provided for four people.

A Weber gas BBQ grill stands inside the air-conditioned living and dining room, allowing you to cook even when it rains. The grill also includes a side burner for pans and saucepans. You do not need to pay an additional fee for bringing food, but you should pack all required ingredients, drinks, cooking oil, and seasonings because food and condiments are not supplied.

The large refrigerator gives you plenty of space for groceries and drinks, making it easy to shop locally and prepare meals at your own pace.

Onsen and Wellness

Every unit includes a completely private semi-open-air bath filled with artificial hot spring water. An adjustable awning covers the bathing space, so you can continue soaking during light rain. The bath takes around 60 minutes to fill, so press the automatic filling button before you plan to bathe.

Your private Finnish-style sauna accommodates up to four people and supports self-loyly, allowing you to pour water over the sauna stones to increase the heat and humidity. The temperature can rise to approximately 80°C to 90°C, although the sauna needs time to warm up after you switch it on.

After your sauna session, cool down in the private cold plunge or rest on one of the four reclining sauna chairs. You can move between the sauna, cold water, fresh air, and warm bath whenever you please during your stay. There are no shared bathing or wellness areas.

Guests with Tattoos

You can use the private semi-open-air bath, sauna, and cold plunge if you have tattoos. All bathing and wellness facilities belong exclusively to your unit, so tattoo restrictions do not apply.

Facilities

Your private unit gives you everything you need for a comfortable glamping stay. Inside, you have heating and air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a speaker, an air purifier, a 50-inch television, and a large refrigerator. The kitchen includes an indoor gas BBQ grill, cookware, tableware, and the equipment needed to prepare simple meals.

Your private wellness area includes a semi-open-air bath, Finnish-style sauna, cold plunge, and a shower booth with two showers. Outside, you can relax on the terrace, stretch out on one of four sauna chairs, or spend the evening beside the fire pit. Towels, roomwear, slippers, bath products, skincare items, toothbrushes, razors, hairbrushes, cotton items, hair turbans, and a hairdryer are also provided.

You can enjoy one prepared campfire set for each night of your stay. Firewood, gloves, tongs, a lighter, fire starters, and an emergency light are stored near the entrance. The fire pit does not have a roof, so you cannot use it during rain.

All indoor spaces are non-smoking. An ashtray is available outside each unit. One parking space is available for each booking without an advance reservation. There is no washing machine on site.

Activities

Walk to Lake Yamanaka in around three minutes and spend your day beside the water. Depending on the season, you can enjoy lakeside walks, cycling, fishing, boat trips, and water sports. The cafés and shops around the lake also give you easy places to stop during a relaxed day out.

Drive to the Lake Yamanaka Myojinyama Panorama Viewpoint for broad views of Mount Fuji and the lake. On a clear day, you may also see the Southern Alps. The viewpoint is especially appealing around sunrise, sunset, and the autumn colour season.

You can also visit Oshino Hakkai, where clear ponds receive water filtered through Mount Fuji’s volcanic ground, or take a sightseeing cruise for a different view of the mountain and lakeshore.

Back at your unit, you can prepare a BBQ, enjoy your private sauna, soak beneath the open air, or sit beside the fire. Silent time runs from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, helping you enjoy a peaceful night beneath the Yamanakako sky.

Additional Features

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. There is no staffed front desk. You complete check-in through the tablet in the check-in building or through your own smartphone, and your room access information appears after you finish the process.

Daily room cleaning and linen replacement are not included during your stay. For a stay of seven nights or longer, one cleaning can be arranged for each seven-night period when requested at least three days in advance. Amenities are prepared according to the length of your booking.

You cannot leave luggage before check-in because there is no staffed reception or storage service. Pets cannot stay at Mt FUJI RESORT GLAMPING Yamanakako. During winter, you should prepare suitable winter tyres because roads around Lake Yamanaka can freeze between December and March.
