Overview
Rurinohama gives you a private villa stay on the coast of Miyazu, close to Amanohashidate and Miyazu Bay. You stay in your own building with a private pool and an in-room natural hot spring, so you can swim, soak, eat, and rest at your own pace. The official site describes the property as a villa resort with private pools, in-room hot springs, ocean-view options, and dog-friendly rooms.
You check in at the Rurinohama Activity Center in Hioki, Miyazu. By car, you reach the property in about 20 minutes from Yosa Amanohashidate I.C. You can also arrive by train through Kyoto Tango Railway Amanohashidate Station, with a free shuttle available by advance reservation.
Accommodation
You choose from private villa styles designed for space, comfort, and quiet time with your own group. Every villa includes a private pool and an in-room hot spring, so you do not need to share bathing or pool areas with anyone outside your stay.
Room types include 3LDK villas with courtyard pools, 2LDK villas with garden pools, ocean-view villas, villas with open-air jacuzzi features, larger layouts for groups, and dog-friendly options in selected buildings. Rurinohama GRANDE offers the largest layout, with space for up to 8 people, while some Calmato villas include two types of in-room hot spring baths.
Inside your villa, you have useful items for an easy stay, including a TV, refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, hair dryer, cooking tools, tableware, pajamas, slippers, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. The official site also notes organic Holly Botanical shampoo and body soap
Dining
You can enjoy meals inside your villa, which keeps the experience private and relaxed. The official dining page highlights in-room meals, glamping BBQ plans, Kyoto Tango ingredients, seasonal seafood, and dishes made for slow evenings in your own space.
Dinner options include a Kyoto kaiseki course with Japanese black wagyu beef, live abalone, Miyazu dried fish, local sashimi, local sushi, farm vegetables, and seasonal dessert. You can also choose a glamping BBQ with wagyu steak, smoked Angus beef, bacon steak, sausage, live abalone, Miyazu fish aqua pazza, skillet dishes, salad, dessert, and baguette.
For breakfast, you can choose simple, local-style options such as dried local fish, roast beef sandwich, or local fish chazuke. If you book a room-only plan, you may bring your own ingredients for BBQ, but you need to rent the BBQ grill because outside fire equipment is not allowed.
You can also dine at sister restaurants nearby, including Hoshiumi, Sushi Zabou, Italian Cielo, and Japanese restaurant Sora no Kaori. Some restaurants require advance booking, so it is best to plan ahead.
Onsen and Wellness
Your villa includes a private natural hot spring bath. The official site describes the red hot spring as iron-rich, smooth on the skin, and suited for warming the body. The hot spring water gets replaced daily from the source through a complete water replacement system, rather than using a circulation system.
Some villas include both red and white hot spring baths, giving you more than one bathing experience inside your own space. You can soak in the morning, after sightseeing, or late at night without following public bath times.
Each villa also includes a private pool.

This property welcomes guests with tattoos because you rent the entire property privately, you can use all facilities without concern for other guests. Tattoos of any size, style, or placement are permitted throughout the property, including onsen areas.
