Overview

Stay at The Gran Resort Princess Fujikawaguchiko at the foot of Mt. Fuji, around ten minutes by car from Kawaguchiko Station. The position places you within easy reach of Lake Kawaguchi, Fuji-Q Highland, the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, and other attractions across the Fuji Five Lakes area.

Mt. Fuji forms the centre of the experience. You can see the mountain from the accommodation rooms, restaurant, lounge, and public hot spring bath when the weather is clear. Morning often gives you the best chance of an open view before clouds begin to gather around the summit.

After sightseeing, you can return for a seasonal Japanese dinner, soak while looking toward Mt. Fuji, or relax in the lounge with the mountain beyond the windows. The setting suits you when you want to stay outside the busiest lakeside streets while keeping the main attractions within a short drive.

Accommodation

Choose from Western twin and triple rooms, traditional Japanese rooms, connecting rooms, an accessible room, and two suite-style Special Rooms. Every room faces Mt. Fuji, although clouds, rain, darkness, and changing weather can hide the mountain at any time.

The 26-square-metre Twin Room includes two single beds and a seating or work area beside the window. This room has a private shower and washlet toilet but no bathtub, so you can use the public hot spring bath when you want a longer soak.

The 36-square-metre Triple Room provides three single beds and more floor space for luggage and relaxation. It also has a private shower rather than a bathtub. Both smoking and non-smoking Triple Rooms may be available, while the current Twin Room selection is non-smoking.

Traditional Japanese rooms give you tatami flooring, low furniture, and futon bedding. You can sit together over tea during the day before the room is prepared for sleeping. These rooms let you combine a more traditional layout with a direct view of Mt. Fuji.

Connecting accommodation allows you to stay close to family or friends while keeping separate sleeping spaces. An accessible room supports easier movement when step-free access and additional space are important.

Only two Special Rooms are available. These suite-style rooms combine twin beds with a Japanese living area and include a private indoor bath. When the weather is clear, you can see Mt. Fuji from both the room and the bathing area.

Room facilities differ by category, but standard features include heating and air conditioning, a television, refrigerator, electric kettle, tea set, safe, hair dryer, free Wi-Fi, yukata, slippers, towels, and toiletries. Bathroom arrangements vary, so you should choose the Special Room when an in-room bathtub is important.

Dining

Dinner is served in the restaurant, where large windows face Mt. Fuji. The main choice is a seasonal Japanese set meal rather than a buffet, with several menu levels available according to your selected plan.

The menus change every few months and bring together meat, seafood, vegetables, rice, soup, and small seasonal dishes. Yamanashi ingredients may include Koshu beef, Fuji Sakura pork, local trout, simmered abalone, and produce grown around the prefecture.

A standard Nagomi meal provides a lighter introduction to the season. Depending on the month, it may include sashimi, grilled or steamed Fuji Sakura pork, vegetables, rice, soup, pickles, and fruit.

The Recommended meal adds more courses or higher-grade ingredients. Seasonal examples include domestic beef cooked on a ceramic plate, seiro-steamed meat and vegetables, grilled fish, and rice cooked with ingredients such as sakura shrimp.

The Premium and Kiwami meals place greater emphasis on ingredients such as Koshu beef, abalone, matsutake mushrooms, seasonal sashimi, and whole or specially prepared fish. The exact menu changes according to the season and ingredient supply.

Breakfast is served as a Japanese and Western buffet with around 30 choices. You can begin with rice, soup, grilled items, egg dishes, vegetables, bread, and drinks while looking toward Mt. Fuji.

Selected breakfast menus include a tabletop grilling element, allowing you to warm fish or meat at your seat. Local dishes such as kappa-meshi may also appear.

Breakfast is normally served between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Dinner usually runs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Meal contents and service formats may change according to the date and number of people staying.

Onsen and Wellness

The gender-separated public baths face Mt. Fuji, giving you the chance to soak while looking directly toward the mountain when conditions are clear. Wide windows bring the landscape into the bathing area, with early morning often providing the sharpest view.

The hot spring water contains calcium, sodium, and sulfate. It is associated with relief from fatigue, sensitivity to cold, muscle and joint discomfort, stiff shoulders, bruises, sprains, cuts, burns, long-term skin concerns, and recovery after illness.

The water is alkaline, with a reported pH of around 9.3. It is heated and managed through a circulation and filtration system rather than used as an untreated free-flowing spring.

The baths normally open from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This gives you time to bathe after dinner and return for an early soak before breakfast.

The bathing areas include indoor hot spring pools, washing stations, changing rooms, lockers, and grooming spaces. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, skincare products, combs, cotton items, razors, hair dryers, and baby bathing products are provided.

There is no open-air bath or reservable private onsen. The Special Rooms have private indoor baths, but these are separate from the shared natural hot spring facilities.

Guests with Tattoos

The shared public hot spring baths do not accommodate tattoos. As there is no private onsen, you cannot use the natural hot spring facilities when you have tattoos.

Facilities

The lounge and café area gives you a comfortable place to sit with a drink while looking toward Mt. Fuji. You can use the space before heading out for the day or relax here after returning from the public bath.

The restaurant also faces the mountain and serves breakfast and dinner at tables and chairs. The wide windows allow Mt. Fuji to remain part of the dining experience when the weather is clear.

A convention room provides space for meetings, group events, and organised gatherings. Connecting rooms and an accessible room add flexibility when you travel with family, friends, or someone who requires easier movement through the accommodation.

Karaoke rooms give you an indoor evening activity after dinner. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and vending machines provide drinks between restaurant service times.

Room equipment includes a refrigerator, television, tea set, safe, yukata, slippers, and bathing items. The shared bathing areas provide a broader selection of toiletries and grooming products, including items for young children.

Free parking is available when you arrive by car. A complimentary pickup from Kawaguchiko Station may also be available until early evening when requested after you reach the station.

Activities

Lake Kawaguchi is a short drive away, giving you access to lakeside walks, sightseeing cruises, seasonal flowers, and views of Mt. Fuji reflected across the water when conditions are suitable.

The Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway carries you up Mount Tenjo for an elevated view over Lake Kawaguchi. From the upper area, you can see Mt. Fuji clearly on days with good visibility.

Fuji-Q Highland is around seven minutes away by car. You can spend the day on its roller coasters and family attractions before returning for dinner and a hot spring bath.

For a quieter outing, visit Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum, the autumn Maple Corridor, or Ubuyagasaki, where Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji form one of the area’s best-known views.

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine introduces you to the spiritual history of Mt. Fuji. The forested approach, old cedar trees, and traditional shrine buildings create a strong contrast to the busier sightseeing areas.

Golf is available at nearby courses, while the wider Fuji Five Lakes region gives you access to hiking, cycling, seasonal flower displays, caves, forests, and drives around Lakes Kawaguchi, Saiko, Shojiko, Motosuko, and Yamanakako.

Additional Features

Check-in normally begins at 4:00 p.m., and check-out is by 10:00 a.m. Arrival times can depend on your selected accommodation plan.

Kawaguchiko Station is around ten minutes away by taxi. A complimentary pickup may be available when you call after arriving at the station, with the current service normally ending by 6:00 p.m.

By car, the property is around five minutes from Kawaguchiko Interchange. Free on-site parking makes it easy to explore Lake Kawaguchi, Fuji-Q Highland, and the surrounding Fuji Five Lakes area.
