Overview
Ubuya places you right by Lake Kawaguchi in Fujikawaguchiko, with Mt. Fuji in full view across the water. Every room faces Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, so you can enjoy the mountain from your room, the lounge, and the hot spring baths. This is a ryokan built around meaningful celebrations, from birthdays and anniversaries to quiet trips with people you care about.
Accommodation
All rooms at Ubuya face Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, giving you a strong sense of place from the moment you enter. You can choose between rooms with private open-air baths and Japanese-style rooms with Western beds. The private bath rooms use hot water rather than natural hot spring water, but they still give you a private onsen-style bathing experience with Mt. Fuji before you.

Dining
Your meals bring the ryokan’s celebration theme into the dining room. Dinner and breakfast are served in the dining halls Fuji and Iwai, not in your room. Current meal options include a buffet centered on Japanese dishes and a shabu-shabu course served with Ubuya’s own “tsuyu dashi” dipping broth.
The buffet highlights colorful Japanese dishes, while the shabu-shabu course lets you dip large slices of meat briefly in hot water and enjoy them with plenty of white leek. At the end, you can finish with noodles in the broth, deepened by the flavor from the meat.
Onsen and Wellness
Ubuya’s Fuji no Yu baths use Fujikawaguchiko Onsen hot spring water. You can soak while looking out at Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, with spacious baths, open-air baths, reclining baths, seated baths, and Meguriyu bathing. The spring quality is calcium, sodium, chloride, and sulfate hot spring water, described as mildly alkaline and hypotonic.
Bathing hours run until midnight in the evening and from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the morning. Saunas are available until 9:00 p.m. You can also use massage chairs with Mt. Fuji in front of you.
Massage services are also available. You can schedule a treatment to loosen tight muscles, improve circulation, and help you drift into deeper relaxation.
Guests with Tattoos
Because you can soak in a private onsen inside selected room types, you can enjoy the onsen regardless of tattoos.
The public bath is not available for use if you have tattoos, unless you can cover them with two 10 cm x 10 cm cover sheets provided at the front desk.
