Overview

Welcome to Villa Inawashiro, a peaceful mountain resort where time slows down. Located at an altitude of 700 meters at the foot of Mount Bandai, this retreat surrounds you with natural beauty in every season. Whether you visit in spring, summer, autumn, or winter, you can enjoy breathtaking views, including the sea of clouds over Lake Inawashiro.

The resort sits just 50 meters from the lift station of the scenic Inawashiro Ski Resort, making it a top choice for skiing and snowboarding. It also offers easy access to hiking, canoeing, and sightseeing in nearby Aizu-Wakamatsu, a city known for its rich samurai history. Villa Inawashiro invites you to leave everyday life behind and discover the quiet joys of the mountains.

Accommodation

Villa Inawashiro offers spacious rooms with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The interiors combine traditional Japanese design with comfortable layouts, giving you space to relax after an active day outdoors. Many rooms include large windows that let in natural light and showcase the mountain scenery.

Whether you’re traveling as a couple, family, or group, you’ll find a room that fits your needs. Each room includes climate control, yukata robes, and standard toiletries to help you settle in with ease.

Dining

Your stay includes access to seasonal meals crafted with fresh ingredients from Fukushima. For dinner, the kitchen prepares a Japanese-style course meal featuring local specialties like “sakura sashimi” (horse meat) and farm-fresh vegetables. The menu changes with the seasons to bring out the best of each ingredient.

In the morning, enjoy a breakfast buffet with both Japanese and Western items. From rice and miso soup to eggs and toast, the spread lets you start your day the way you prefer.

If you’re on the go, you can also order takeaway meals. Breakfast and dinner boxes are available by reservation, and delivery is available within the hotel or to the on-site RV park.

Onsen and Wellness

Soak in the natural warmth of Hayama Onsen. This mildly alkaline hot spring flows from a 60.5°C source and is known for its smooth texture and skin-soothing effects. You can enjoy the large communal baths from 2:00 PM to midnight and again in the morning from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. The baths alternate between men and women daily, allowing you to enjoy different settings throughout your stay.

After your soak, visit the 2nd-floor lounge for a refreshing cup of herbal tea or detox water. The lounge stays open from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, offering a quiet place to cool down and relax.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, you may be asked to use private bathing options when available. Please check with the front desk for the most comfortable and respectful way to enjoy the hot spring facilities.

Facilities

Villa Inawashiro provides a wide range of spaces where you can unwind or explore. When you arrive, the open-air lobby welcomes you with natural light and artwork. The front desk staff is happy to help you plan your stay, from local food spots to sightseeing tips.

Browse the shop near the lobby for souvenirs, including Fukushima-made keychains and the popular Akabeko figurines. The shop also stocks unique local products that make great gifts or travel keepsakes.

Activities

There’s no shortage of ways to spend your time here. In winter, enjoy skiing and snowboarding right outside the hotel. The on-site rental shop makes it easy to switch from skis to a snowboard for just 500 yen. In summer, you can hike to the top of the ski slopes using the lift and then continue on foot to enjoy the 1,100-meter views.

Try canoeing on Lake Inawashiro, one of the clearest lakes in the world. The water is calm and safe, making it perfect for families and first-timers.

You can also go strawberry picking year-round at the Inawashiro Strawberry Farm located near the roadside station, or visit local attractions like Bandai Mountain, Goshikinuma ponds, and the historic town of Aizu-Wakamatsu. If you’re in the area during late September, don’t miss the Aizu Festival with its colorful samurai parade.
