Overview
Yufuri Izukogen gives you the freedom to shape each day around your own plans. Set in the Izu Kogen area of Itō, the hotel follows a self-service style that removes rigid meal times and unnecessary formality. You can cook in your room, explore local restaurants, soak in the hot spring, or simply spend time enjoying the view.
Opened under the Yufuri name on December 20, 2025, the hotel brings together spacious condominium-style rooms, natural hot spring bathing, family-friendly facilities, and dedicated accommodation for stays with your dog.
The property is divided into general accommodation and dog-friendly areas. This allows you to choose the environment that suits your trip, whether you are planning a quiet break, a group stay, a longer visit, or time away with your dog.
Accommodation
Every room includes a kitchen, giving you the freedom to prepare breakfast, reheat local dishes, or enjoy a relaxed meal without leaving your accommodation. Rooms are non-smoking and combine sleeping, dining, and living space within layouts designed for longer, more independent stays.
General room choices include Japanese-Western rooms, maisonettes, ocean-view rooms, and larger premium accommodation. Standard and deluxe rooms offer between 55㎡ and 81㎡, while selected suites reach 112㎡.
The Premium Western Room with Rooftop Terrace is the hotel’s largest accommodation. It includes five beds, a separate bedroom, a spacious living and dining area, and room for up to five people. The top-floor Deluxe Japanese-Western Room accommodates up to six people and works especially well when you are travelling with family or friends.
Dog-friendly rooms range from compact double and twin rooms to spacious Japanese-Western accommodation. The 72㎡ Premium Japanese-Western Room offers extra space for larger dogs or stays with more than one dog. Other choices include deluxe rooms, maisonettes, and rooms with tatami areas where you and your dog can relax together.
Check-in begins at 15:00, and check-out is by 11:00.
Dining
Yufuri Izukogen does not have a restaurant. Instead, you decide where, when, and how you want to eat.
Every room includes a kitchen for simple self-catering. You can shop locally, bring back food from an Izu restaurant, or prepare meals using ingredients chosen during the day. This flexibility works particularly well for longer stays, families, and trips with your dog.
The hotel also sells frozen bento boxes, prepared frozen dishes, canned foods, and desserts 24 hours a day. Microwaves are available, making it easy to enjoy a warm meal whenever it suits you.
For a light treat, try the self-service grilled mitarashi dango. You grill the skewers over a small charcoal stove in the lobby, then finish them with a sweet soy glaze. The experience takes around 10 minutes and adds a fun local touch to your stay.
Onsen and wellness
The large public bath uses water from Akazawa Tsushima Onsen, an alkaline simple hot spring with a gentle temperature of around 38°C. The softer heat suits a long, unhurried soak after sightseeing or time outdoors.
A dry sauna is located inside the bathing area. After the sauna, you can cool down under the cold-water shower before returning to the hot spring.
The large public bath opens from 6:00 to 10:00 and from 15:00 to midnight. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hairdryers, lockers, and a water dispenser are available.
For more privacy, the hotel offers a reservable family bath called Oshima. A second private bath, Omuro, allows you to bathe with your dog and must be reserved by telephone in advance.
You can also use the open-air bath at the nearby Wanwan Paradise Izu Kogen for an additional charge. Transport between the properties is not provided.
Guests with tattoos
Tattoos are not accepted in the large public bath.
If you have tattoos, you can enjoy the hot spring in the private family bath. Advance booking is required. The dog-friendly private bath is also available when reserved by telephone.
Facilities
The hotel includes a shop selling Izu souvenirs, refreshments, and treats for dogs. Frozen meals are available around the clock, while vending machines offer additional drinks.
For longer stays, coin-operated washing machines and dryers are available in the pet building. Dog bedding and clothing cannot be washed in these machines.
Indoor entertainment includes a comic corner, table football, mini billiards, and other simple games. Karaoke rooms are also available, with spaces for up to four or twelve people. Dogs can join you inside the karaoke rooms.
If you are travelling with your dog, the hotel offers three play areas. The 600-tsubo outdoor dog park is divided into large- and small-dog zones and includes evening lighting. A rooftop dog park uses soft artificial grass, while the indoor playroom provides agility equipment and toys when the weather keeps you inside.
The rooftop heated dog pool includes a shallow section of around 10 centimetres for smaller dogs and first-time swimmers. Dog towels and life jackets are available.
Dog amenities include food bowls, toilet sheets, cages, towels, and deodorising spray. A paid dog-sitting service is available from 8:00 to 21:00 and can be arranged during your stay.
Activities
Yufuri Izukogen places you within easy reach of some of the area’s best-known attractions. Izu Shaboten Zoo and Mount Omuro are both around 6 minutes away by car, making it easy to combine animal encounters and mountain views in one day.
Izu Granpal Park is about 5 minutes away and offers rides, outdoor attractions, and seasonal evening illuminations. Jogasaki Coast is around 15 minutes away, where volcanic cliffs, walking paths, and the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge create one of Izu’s most dramatic coastal landscapes.
For time with your dog, Jingi Shrine welcomes dogs within its grounds and offers pet charms and blessings. You can also use selected dog parks at affiliated Wanwan Paradise properties after completing the required application.
Back at the hotel, you can swim and play with your dog, relax with manga, enjoy karaoke, prepare a meal, or move between the sauna and hot spring without needing a full schedule.
