Accommodation
Your room at Yunomori Hotel Shidotaira gives you a comfortable place to slow down after bathing, dining, and exploring Hanamaki. All rooms are non-smoking, and you can choose from Japanese-style rooms, Japanese-Western rooms, and bed-based rooms with views of the river, forest, or mountains depending on the room type.
Keiryu Suite offers the most spacious stay, with warm wood tones, large windows, and a layout that brings the forest and river scenery close to you. It is a good choice when you want extra room to relax in a refined riverside setting.
Excellent gives you a generous Japanese-Western layout with both bed space and a separate area for quiet downtime. Mountain views add a peaceful backdrop to your stay.
Keiryu View Type places the river and mountains at the center of the experience. Wide windows bring in natural light and let you enjoy the changing scenery from your room.
Keiryu View Twin Type offers a step-free layout inside the room, with a sloped entrance for easier movement. You can still enjoy the same calming connection to the forest and river outside.
Keiryu Natural Twin Type and Keiryu Natural Triple Type were designed around light, trees, and flowing water. These rooms feel bright and open, with windows that look toward the forest and river below.
Deluxe combines beds with a Ryukyu tatami sitting area, giving you both Western-style ease and a Japanese-style space to stretch out and relax.
Superior offers a simple, comfortable mountain-facing stay, ideal when you want a clean and easy base for your onsen trip.
Traditional Japanese-style rooms are also available if you want a classic tatami-floor experience. You can sit low, unwind in yukata, and enjoy the slower rhythm of a ryokan-style stay without overcomplicating the room choice.
Dining
Your meals center on the buffet restaurant, where you can enjoy a lively dining experience with live kitchen stations and freshly prepared dishes. Dinner focuses on a fun, interactive buffet style, with chefs cooking in front of you. Soft drinks are included, while local beer, local wine, and Iwate sake are available for an extra charge.
Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet with around 60 items. You can start your morning with baked bread, croissants made with fermented butter, freshly prepared omelets, tomato smoothies, and other breakfast dishes.
Onsen and Wellness
The baths are a major reason to stay here. Amagawa no Yu is a 25-meter scenic bath where you can soak while looking out toward Iwate’s nature and the streamside landscape. It also has a lava sauna using lava stones from Mt. Iwate and a METOS “iki” heater designed for löyly.
Hidakami no Yu has a spacious two-level atrium-style bathing area with a large bath, a hiba wood bath, a stream-view semi-open-air bath, ceramic baths, and a Finnish-style cave sauna with self-löyly.
You can also reserve one of three private baths. Options include Ogon no Yu, which has an open-air bath, plus Toki no Yu and Hiba no Yu. Private bath reception runs from 11:30 to 21:00, with final reception at 20:30.
Guests with Tattoos
If you have tattoos, the shared bathing areas are generally not available for use. Small tattoos around 10 cm x 10 cm may be accepted if covered with a seal. For a more private soak, you can ask about reserving one of the private baths before you bathe.
