Overview
Yutorie gives you a very different kind of Atami stay. Set in Nishiyamacho, away from the busiest seaside streets, this private retreat is designed as a creative group stay with both accommodation and work space. You do not come here for a typical ryokan experience with kaiseki service, public lounges, and shared baths. You come here to gather with your team, think clearly, work deeply, cook together, bathe in Atami hot spring water, and spend time in a space created for focus and conversation.
The property uses two renovated buildings on one private site. One building holds the guest rooms, while the other holds the work space, open kitchen, sofa area, and hot spring bath. The architecture gives the stay a strong identity, with a former old house transformed into hotel-like rooms and a work building with a striking design that feels closer to an art space than a standard meeting room. Yutorie suits you best when you want a private off-site, planning retreat, creative session, company training stay, or quiet group getaway with a clear purpose.
Accommodation
You stay in four private rooms across the accommodation building, with space for up to 6 people. The layout gives your group both privacy and togetherness, so you can work as a team during the day and still rest in your own room at night. Two rooms are designed for two people, and two rooms are designed for one person, which makes the property especially practical for small teams or groups who want a full-site rental without feeling crowded.
Room 1 is a two-person private room with 26 square meters of space, two beds, a shower room, access to a shared toilet, and room amenities. Room 3 is another two-person private room with 24 square meters of space, two beds, a shower room, toilet, and room amenities. Rooms 2 and 4 are single private rooms, each with 12 square meters of space, one bed, access to the shared hot spring bath, access to a shared toilet, and room amenities.
The guest rooms feel clean, simple, and carefully designed, with the comfort of a hotel-style interior inside a renovated older building. You can rest properly between work sessions, take time alone when you need it, and return to the shared spaces when you are ready to talk, plan, or create again. The balance between private rooms and shared work areas is one of Yutorie’s strongest points.
Dining
Yutorie includes breakfast and simple lunches depending on your stay plan, with meals shaped around the retreat-style rhythm of the property. Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM and features a Chinese-style medicinal rice porridge set at the attached medicinal tea café. The meal is gentle, warm, and easy on the body, making it a good start before a day of meetings, planning, or creative work.
Lunch is served between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM as simple, easy-to-eat food that you can enjoy at your own pace. The lunch selection may include items such as dried-fish mackerel sandwiches, sandwiches, Chinese bao, fruit, and other light options, with contents subject to seasonal changes and availability.
Dinner is available as an optional add-on by advance reservation. The dinner concept brings together recommended dishes from several restaurants in Atami, giving you a way to enjoy the local food scene without leaving the property. Drinks such as alcoholic beverages, fruit drinks, and tea drinks are included with this optional dinner plan. You can also use the open kitchen, which includes an IH cooktop, refrigerator-freezer, dishes, cutlery, and cooking tools, so your group can prepare food together when that better suits your stay.
Onsen and Wellness
Yutorie includes a hot spring bath in the work building, giving you a quiet way to reset between work, discussion, and rest. The bath is compact, with about 6 square meters of space, and is designed for one person at a time. This makes the bathing experience private and simple, rather than a large public onsen experience.
The bath uses hot spring water, allowing you to enjoy one of Atami’s best-known comforts within your own private-use retreat. You can use the bath to clear your mind after a long meeting, change the mood before dinner, or relax before sleep. Since Yutorie is rented to one group at a time, the bath fits naturally into the rhythm of your stay without the feeling of a public bathing area.
Guests with tattoos
If you have tattoos, you can use the hot spring bath inside your private-use facility. You do not need to enter a shared public bath with outside visitors, so you can bathe comfortably within your own group.
Facilities
Yutorie gives you a full private site with two buildings, four guest rooms, a 60-square-meter work space, an open kitchen, a sofa area, a compact hot spring bath, and parking for two cars with advance notice. The work space includes a large meeting table, chairs, PC, projector, whiteboard, speaker, and Wi-Fi, making it useful for meetings, group planning, creative workshops, training sessions, and development retreats.
The kitchen gives your group more flexibility during the stay, with a three-burner IH cooktop, refrigerator-freezer, dishes, cutlery, and cooking tools. The attached medicinal tea café adds another layer to the property, serving breakfast and lunch during the retreat-style stay. You also have credit card and QR code payment options, though online reservations use credit card payment, and other payment methods should be arranged by phone.
Activities
Your stay at Yutorie focuses less on sightseeing and more on thinking, talking, creating, and spending focused time together. You can use the work building for planning sessions, team meetings, brainstorming, strategy discussions, hackathons, or quiet individual work. The layout supports both group and solo time, so you can move naturally between concentrated work, shared discussion, meals, bathing, and rest.
When you want to step outside, the Nishiyamacho setting gives you a quieter side of Atami. The property sits in the mountain side of the city near the area above Kinomiya Shrine, rather than right on the beach or in the main hot spring town center. You can take a taxi to and from Atami Station or Kinomiya Station, and you can add time in central Atami, the beach area, cafés, or local restaurants before or after your stay.
Additional Features
Yutorie is located at 32-25 Nishiyamacho, Atami, Shizuoka. You can reach it by taxi from Atami Station in about 15 minutes, or from Kinomiya Station in about 10 minutes. You can also walk from Kinomiya Station in about 20 minutes, though the area includes slopes, so a taxi may feel easier when you arrive with luggage or work equipment.
The standard official retreat plan is designed for up to 6 people and gives you a long stay from 11:00 AM check-in to 5:00 PM check-out the next day, creating a 30-hour retreat format. Rakuten Travel also lists a separate booking format with check-in from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM, so your exact times may depend on the booking route and plan. Yutorie suits you when you want a private creative retreat with hot spring bathing, work space, meals, kitchen access, and a quiet Atami setting that helps your group focus.
