Overview

Stay at a hilltop ryokan that offers one of the best views in Ise-Shima. From the moment you arrive, the vast ocean stretches before you, and on a clear day, you might even spot Mount Fuji in the distance. Gaze out over the Ise Bay islands, including the famous Kamishima, and breathe in the salty sea breeze. You’ll enjoy fresh seafood, soothing hot springs, and the warmth of traditional hospitality—all from the highest vantage point in Ijika.

Accommodation

Choose from a wide range of rooms designed for comfort, privacy, and beautiful views. For a luxurious stay, book one of the open-air bath rooms in the Nabura series. Each room gives you immediate access to your own outdoor bath, perfect for relaxing under the sky any time you like. Some rooms include canopy beds or terraces, adding to your comfort.

If you enjoy modern style with an exotic touch, stay in a canopy-bed design room in the Unam series. These rooms blend Asian decor with large windows and ocean views, perfect for unwinding.

Looking for something simple? The standard rooms in the main building let you relax in comfort with either ocean or mountain views. If you’re traveling with a group or prefer a Japanese-style room, try the rooms in the East Wing. You’ll find Japanese, Western, and Japanese-Western layouts to fit your style. If you want to enjoy dinner in your room, book a Japanese-style room in the East Wing.

Dining

Your stay includes meals made from the freshest ingredients of the season. Dinner features traditional Japanese cuisine using local seafood, such as lobster, abalone, and seasonal fish. The chefs prepare each dish with care, creating colorful, flavorful plates that reflect the region’s bounty.

You can enjoy your meals in the third-floor dining room Hanon, where you’ll start your day with a breakfast buffet made from healthy, handmade dishes. Breakfast includes local produce, fresh seafood, and warm rice—all served with a view of the sunrise.

If you’d prefer to dine in private, the hotel also offers an in-room dinner option for guests staying in East Wing Japanese rooms. This setup is ideal if you’re traveling with children or want to enjoy a quiet evening on your own schedule.

Onsen and Wellness

Relax in two different open-air baths: Kibou no Yu, with views of Kamishima and the ocean, and Yume no Yu, where the mountains meet the sea. These baths rotate between men and women on a daily schedule. The views from the baths are spectacular—on clear winter days, you may even see Mount Fuji across the water.

The large indoor bath gives you a panoramic view of Ise Bay, Irago Cape, and beyond. Like the open-air baths, the indoor bath switches between men and women, so you can enjoy both during your stay.

You can also reserve a private bath for 40 minutes. Four types are available: Kanata no Shiro, Aonokirameki, Kizuna no Yu, and Nagomi no Yu. These family-style baths provide a quiet, personal space for couples, families, or anyone seeking extra comfort. Availability is limited and operates on a first-come basis each day.

For added relaxation, visit the esthetic salon. Book a massage or beauty treatment to loosen your body and refresh your mind after a long soak in the bath.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, the private baths are available and recommended. Since public baths follow traditional customs, please confirm with the staff in advance for appropriate use of shared facilities.

Facilities

From dawn to dusk, you’ll find plenty to explore inside the ryokan. Watch the sunrise from the dining room, then head to the third-floor balcony at 7:10 AM for a chance to feed wild black kites as they glide overhead. This unique experience is free and popular with travelers of all ages.

Inside, you can visit the café, enjoy karaoke, or relax in the bar lounge. The hotel also has table tennis, massage services, and a shop that sells local products and souvenirs.

If you’re here to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, you can add optional surprises like a cake, flowers, or sparkling wine to your plan.

Activities

Don’t miss the popular kite-feeding event, which happens every morning at 7:10 AM on the main building’s balcony. Watch 20 to 30 birds swoop down to catch food midair—a rare and exciting sight. Afterward, head to the East Wing’s third-floor dining room to catch a stunning sunrise over the ocean.

The hotel also offers seasonal experiences, such as local festivals and events in Toba. Ask the front desk for tips on sightseeing or directions to nearby attractions. Shuttle service to and from Kintetsu Toba Station is available and easy to arrange.
