Overview
Founded in 1887 as a rest stop for merchants and sailors, Kaigetsu blends local history with the charm of a coastal ryokan. Located in Toba, in the heart of Ise-Shima, this ryokan brings you close to the sea in every way—from the catch on your plate to the view from your room.
Kaigetsu gives you a peaceful place to unwind in a traditional Japanese setting. The building retains a nostalgic atmosphere, like returning to a countryside home. You can relax completely and leave behind the noise of daily life.

Kaigetsu specializes in Ise-Shima’s freshest seafood. Your meals highlight seasonal ingredients such as Ise lobster, abalone, sea bream, turban shell, and more. Dishes change throughout the year, reflecting the shifting flavors of each season.
The ryokan serves dinner and lunch as multi-course meals. Each course is crafted with care and focuses on the natural flavor of locally sourced ingredients. You’ll enjoy specialties like:
- Grilled abalone over charcoal
- Fresh sashimi served moments after preparation
- Fried seasonal fish
- Dishes prepared with spring sea bream or summer conger eel
Dinner is available from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (last seating at 7:30 p.m.), and lunch is served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (last seating at 1:00 p.m.). Meals typically take about two hours.
You can also reserve dining without an overnight stay, but advance reservations are required.
