Overview

Since 1830, Todaya has welcomed travelers to Toba with a spirit of refined hospitality. Set beside the calm waters of Toba Bay, the ryokan blends traditional charm with thoughtful service. Whether you’re traveling with family, as a couple, or in a group, you’ll find a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the best of Ise-Shima.

The ryokan sits just a 3-minute walk from Toba Station and a 20-minute drive from Ise Jingu. With hot springs, fresh seafood, and ocean views, your stay here brings warmth, flavor, and timeless comfort.

Accommodation

Todaya offers a wide range of rooms to suit different travel styles. Every room includes free Wi-Fi, a tea set, refrigerator, television, air purifier, and bathroom with full amenities.

Kishuntei: This wing offers spacious Japanese-style rooms with sweeping views of Toba Bay. All rooms are ocean-facing, and you can enjoy dinner served right in your room.

Kirara and Totom Rooms (South Wing): These rooms come in Japanese, Western, and Japanese-Western styles. Some include open-air baths. Choose from family-friendly layouts, triple rooms for groups, or more refined options for special occasions.

Suites and VIP Rooms: The top floor features luxury suites that have hosted royalty and celebrities. These rooms include premium bath amenities, larger spaces, and elevated service.

Dining

Todaya serves the flavors of Ise-Shima through three distinct dining experiences.

Shinwa Dining “Ten-Chi-Kai” (Buffet): Watch chefs prepare fresh sushi, grilled fish, fried foods, and hand-tossed pizza right before your eyes. Enjoy a lively buffet with seasonal seafood, handmade dishes, and even a tuna-cutting show. You’ll also find kid-friendly meals, desserts, and fresh salads.

Kochi to Umi (Kaiseki Dinner): Sit down in a slowly rotating rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of Toba Bay. Here, chefs prepare each course in front of you, using fresh lobster, abalone, and other regional delicacies. Every dish is served with care and elegance.

Room Dining (Kishuntei only): Enjoy a quiet dinner in your room with carefully prepared seasonal kaiseki. This is a perfect option for couples or families looking for privacy and comfort.

Onsen and Wellness

Todaya gives you access to a full onsen village, where you can enjoy a wide variety of hot spring experiences.

Outdoor Baths (“Yutei”): Walk through the onsen village and try several open-air baths surrounded by nature. You’ll find tubs made from barrels, ceramics, and stone—each with its own character.

Private Baths: Choose from themed private baths such as the shell bath, floating bath, or kettle-style bath. These don’t require reservations. Just check availability and lock the door from the inside for a peaceful soak.

Large Public Baths: Kishuntei and the South Wing each have spacious indoor baths. Women and men bathe separately. The water comes from the alkaline hot spring source “Sakakibara Onsen (Nanakuri no Yu),” known for leaving your skin soft and smooth.

Family Baths with Feng Shui Design: For a more personal soak, use the family bath area. Some rooms feature over 5,000 seashells, creating a unique bathing space that helps you relax both body and mind.

Foot Baths: Take a break along the garden path and enjoy a warm foot bath while listening to the sound of waves and birdsong.

All onsen areas operate throughout the day and evening. Some areas may close during storms or for maintenance.

Guests with Tattoos

Todaya does not allow tattoos in the public onsen areas. If you have tattoos, consider using the private or family baths.
