Overview
Awaji Yumesenkei brings you to the edge of the sea, where the blue waters of the Kitan Strait meet the backdrop of the Kishu Mountains. From sunrise to starlight, you can enjoy views that feel like scenes from a scroll painting. This is where your beachside story begins—relaxed, refreshed, and surrounded by beauty.
Located just an hour from Kobe or a little more from Osaka, the ryokan offers an easy escape from city life. Whether you’re soaking in the infinity onsen, enjoying a private dinner in your room, or watching the sky from the terrace, every moment here helps you slow down and savor the island atmosphere.
Accommodation
Awaji Yumesenkei offers 13 types of rooms, so you can choose the one that fits your travel style.
The Luxury Floor Riraku features 18 uniquely designed rooms with full ocean views. Some include open-air baths that bring the sea right to your doorstep. Japanese-Western rooms come with panorama baths, and Japanese twin rooms feature a nagomi-dokoro—a cozy space designed for relaxation. One of the Japanese triple rooms also follows universal design principles for ease of use.
You can also stay on the Comfort Floor or in Shotokaku, where rooms offer picture windows that frame the harbor view. Every room includes thoughtful details, modern touches, and access to everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Riraku guests also have access to the Riraku Lounge, a quiet, private space with coffee, tea, massage chairs, and a curated selection of books and magazines. A women-only lounge is also available with the same relaxing features and a choice of herbal or fruit teas.
Dining
Awaji Yumesenkei’s cuisine celebrates the changing seasons and the island’s rich natural resources. You’ll enjoy seafood like sea bream, conger eel, abalone, and spiny lobster, as well as vegetables, rice, and beef grown and raised right on Awaji.
Dinner features handmade Kaiseki meals created with respect for the ingredients and attention to seasonal flavors. Every dish showcases the natural beauty and taste of local produce. You can enjoy your meal in your room, in a private ryotei dining space, or in a casual dining area. Hospitality staff serve each course with care, adding a personal touch to your dining experience.
If you’re staying in a Japanese or Japanese-Western room, you can also request a dining show plan, where chefs prepare fresh, live fish right in your room.
Breakfast is also a treat. You can start your day with a handmade Japanese breakfast that includes items like onion salad, vegetable hotpot, and your choice of eggs—such as dashimaki tamago, chawanmushi, or a hot spring-boiled egg. Western-style or seafood breakfast sets are also available on request.
Onsen and Wellness
The ryokan features two natural hot springs—Komoe Onsen and Sumoto Onsen—and a special maisonette-style bath called Tenkyu-no-Shizuku. This two-level onsen lets you enjoy both indoor panoramic views and open-air ocean breezes. You can also reserve a private bath to enjoy a peaceful soak in your own space.
The onsen areas rotate daily between men and women. You can visit during the day or late into the night, allowing you to relax at your own pace.
As a guest, you can also visit nearby Hotel New Awaji’s Spa Terrace Mizuki, where the Awaji Tanada-no-Yu recreates traditional terraced rice fields with a three-level bath design. Another bath, Kuniumi-no-Yu, gives you wide views of the surrounding sea and sky.
Guests with Tattoos
If you have tattoos, you can use the private onsen baths without restrictions. These spaces give you privacy and let you enjoy the hot springs without worry.
