Overview

At Dormy Inn Kanazawa, you stay just two minutes on foot from the east exit of JR Kanazawa Station. This central location makes it easy to arrive with luggage, explore the city by bus, and return for a long soak after sightseeing.

The highlight awaits on the top floor, where you can enjoy natural hot spring water, an indoor bath, an open-air bath, reclining baths, saunas, and cold baths. Add a generous breakfast filled with Kanazawa flavours and complimentary late-night noodles, and you have an inviting base for both short visits and longer stays.

Accommodation

You can choose from compact rooms for solo travel, larger rooms for two, and Japanese-Western rooms with space for families. Dark tones and warm wood finishes create a calm place to rest between sightseeing trips.

The 12-square-metre Economy Single comes with a 1,000-millimetre-wide Simmons bed. The 14.8-square-metre Double gives you a wider 1,400-millimetre Simmons bed, while the 19.5-square-metre Queen includes a 1,600-millimetre bed and more floor space.

The 21.9-square-metre Twin has two Simmons beds. For additional space, the 25.5-square-metre twin room adds a sofa bed alongside two Simmons beds, making it useful when you are travelling together and would like a larger layout.

The Japanese-Western rooms combine Western-style beds with a tatami area and Japanese futons. The 25-square-metre room comes with two Simmons beds, while the larger 30-square-metre room has two Serta beds. These rooms give you space to sit and relax on tatami while still sleeping in a Western-style bed.

In-room equipment includes free internet access, a television, telephone, refrigerator, electric kettle, hairdryer, shower booth, and toilet with a washlet function. You also receive towels, indoor clothing, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, tea, a toothbrush, a hairbrush, cotton buds, and other daily essentials.

Smoking rooms are available on the seventh-floor smoking level. You can also use the smoking booth on the first floor.

Dining

Breakfast is served at CAFÉ & LOUNGE OASIS on the first floor from 6:30 to 9:30, with final entry at 9:00. The Japanese and Western buffet brings together freshly prepared egg dishes, small plates from the Kobachi Yokocho selection, and local dishes connected to Kanazawa.

One of the main highlights is the Okonomi Kaisendon. You can choose the seafood you like and build your own bowl over rice. You can also try Hanton Rice, a Kanazawa comfort food prepared fresh for you. Its name is said to combine “Han,” taken from Hungary, with “thon,” the French word for tuna.

The small breakfast dishes let you sample several flavours without filling your plate with large portions. Hot food is kept hot and chilled food is served cold, helping each dish reach your table at its best.

In the evening, CAFÉ & LOUNGE OASIS opens as a paid lounge from 17:00 to 21:00, with final orders at 20:30. You can enjoy beer, wine, highballs, chuhai, soft drinks, fries, mixed nuts, and other light snacks.

Later in the evening, you can return for complimentary Yonaki Soba. This light soy sauce ramen is served daily from 21:30 to 23:00 and makes a welcome late-night meal after a bath or an evening in the city.

If you have food allergies, check the ingredients before dining. Breakfast is prepared with shared cooking equipment and oils, and the Yonaki Soba contains ingredients connected with wheat, egg, chicken, and pork.

Onsen and Wellness

On the fourteenth floor, Kaga no Yusen gives you separate bathing areas for men and women. You can move between a natural hot spring indoor bath, an open-air bath, reclining baths, a high-temperature dry sauna, and a chilled cold-water bath.

The hot spring water rises from around 1,200 metres underground. It is classified as a sodium chloride spring that is mildly alkaline, hypotonic, and naturally hot. The water has a smooth feel and is associated with relief from joint pain, muscle pain, and neuralgia.

The reclining baths allow warm water to flow beneath your back while you lie down. The men’s bath has three reclining spaces, while the women’s bath has two. When the weather is clear, you can look up at the night sky from the open-air bathing area.

Both saunas have two levels of seating and an automatic loyly system. Steam is released every 20 minutes, raising the heat and humidity inside the sauna. After cooling down in the chiller-controlled cold bath, you can rest outside on one of the open-air chairs.

You can use the bathing areas from 15:00 until 10:00 the following morning. The saunas close between 1:00 and 5:00.

After your evening bath, you can enjoy complimentary ice cream in the fourteenth-floor relaxation area from 15:00 to 1:00. In the morning, a complimentary lactic acid drink is available from 5:00 to 10:00. Welcome drinks are also served in the relaxation area during selected morning and evening hours.

For deeper relaxation, you can book a massage at the fourteenth-floor treatment room. Treatments are available in the evening, with final reception before closing.

Tattoo Policy

If you have a tattoo, you cannot use the public bathing facilities. This restriction also covers temporary tattoos and tattoo stickers. You should plan to use the bathing facilities in your room instead.

Facilities

On the fourteenth floor, you can use the hot spring baths, saunas, post-bath relaxation area, massage room, manga corner, and laundry facilities. The shared laundry area has eight machines, with two additional machines inside the women’s changing room. Washing machines are complimentary, while the dryers are coin-operated.

Vending machines are available on the first, ninth, and fourteenth floors. You can also use CAFÉ & LOUNGE OASIS for breakfast, the evening lounge service, and complimentary Yonaki Soba.

Before check-in and after check-out, you can leave your luggage at reception. Storage after check-out is available until the end of the same day. Complimentary loan items include an iron and ironing board, trouser press, mobile phone charger, and desk lamp.

Free internet access is available in your room. A first-floor accessible toilet provides added convenience, while the tower parking garage accommodates both standard-height and high-roof vehicles.

Activities

With Kanazawa Station only two minutes away, you can easily use the Kanazawa Loop Bus and local routes to reach the city’s main cultural areas. Spend the morning walking through Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park, then explore the art collections around the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art.

At Omicho Market, you can discover seafood, local produce, snacks, and small restaurants. Higashi Chaya District gives you streets lined with traditional wooden teahouses, while Nagamachi introduces you to Kanazawa’s former samurai quarter and its earthen walls.

Around Kanazawa Station, you can see the Tsuzumi-mon Gate and Motenashi Dome before browsing local food, crafts, sweets, and souvenirs at Kanazawa Hyakubangai. After a full day, you can return to the top-floor onsen, enjoy Yonaki Soba, and settle into your room without a long journey across the city.

Additional Features

Check-in begins at 15:00, and check-out is by 11:00. Times may differ when you choose a plan with different arrival or departure conditions.

The property first opened in November 2006 and completed a major renewal in July 2023. The work included updates to the natural hot spring bathing area and restaurant, along with the introduction of automatic loyly saunas for both men and women and the opening of CAFÉ & LOUNGE OASIS.

The tower parking garage has 74 spaces, including 38 for standard vehicles and 36 for high-roof vehicles. Parking works on a first-come, first-served basis and vehicle size limits apply. When the garage is full, you will need to use a nearby public car park.

There is no dedicated motorcycle parking area. Limited space may be available within part of the car park when arranged in advance, but you may need to use a nearby motorcycle or bicycle parking area.
