Overview
Hotel Casual Euro offers a private hot spring stay in the Tokorono area of Nikko, close to the Kirifuri highlands and the city’s World Heritage district. JR Nikko Station and Tobu-Nikko Station are about 5 minutes away by car, while Nikko Toshogu Shrine takes around 10 minutes.
The hotel’s strongest feature is its own natural hot spring source. Every room includes a private open-air bath on the terrace, so you can soak whenever you like without following public bathing hours.
The atmosphere feels casual and easygoing. You can spend the day visiting Nikko’s shrines, waterfalls, and forest paths, then return for dinner, a long private soak, and a quiet evening in your room.
Accommodation
Hotel Casual Euro offers Western-style and Japanese-inspired rooms for two or three people. Room choices include twin, double, and triple layouts, along with detached maisonette accommodation.
Western rooms come with standard beds, while the Japanese-inspired rooms place futon bedding on a raised floor area. Triple rooms work well when you travel with friends or older children.
The detached maisonette double rooms use a three- or four-level layout. The lower floor includes an indoor hot spring bath and an open-air bath, while the upper levels provide a living area and double bedroom.
Every room includes its own terrace bath supplied with 100% natural hot spring water from the hotel’s source. In-room features include a television, refrigerator, electric kettle, hairdryer, washlet toilet, bathrobe, towels, slippers, and toiletries.
Dining
Breakfast is served in the hotel’s bright dining room. The Western-style buffet normally offers around ten choices, including bread, cereal, salad, yoghurt, soup, drinks, and the hotel’s vegetable curry.
Dinner is served at THE GREEN TERRACE NIKKO, a greenhouse-style restaurant located beside the hotel. You choose a main dish, with options such as Kirifuri Highland beef tenderloin, sirloin steak, beef hamburger steak, grilled Yashu chicken, or Nikko-raised premium Yashio trout.
You can add a side buffet with rice, soup, salad, curry, desserts, and soft drinks. Children’s plates and curry are also available.
Meal inclusion depends on your accommodation plan, so you can book breakfast only, both meals, or a room-only stay according to your schedule.
Onsen and wellness
The hotel draws its natural hot spring water from a source within the grounds. The alkaline simple spring has a pH of 8.6 and is almost clear, tasteless, and odourless.
Your private terrace bath receives 100% natural hot spring water. You can soak early in the morning, after sightseeing, or beneath the night sky without leaving your room.
You can also visit Nikko Onsen Honoka, the shared bathing facility within the grounds. It includes indoor and open-air bathing and is free during your stay. It normally opens from 11:00 to 19:00 for day visits and remains available until 23:00 for hotel use.
For a larger private bathing space, Hoshizora no Yu includes an open-air bath, terrace, shower room, and changing area. A 50-minute session requires a reservation and costs an additional fee.
Guests with tattoos
Tattoos are accepted in the private open-air hot spring bath attached to your room. Every room includes its own bath, allowing you to enjoy the natural spring water in complete privacy.
You can also reserve Hoshizora no Yu for a private 50-minute bathing session.
Facilities
The lobby gives you a comfortable place to sit before check-in or between outings. A souvenir corner sells Nikko products, while the second-floor library includes local guidebooks, magazines, and manga.
Vending machines provide soft drinks and beer. Complimentary hot water, tea, and ice are also available. You can use the shared computer near the entrance, and a separate smoking booth is provided on the first floor.
Free Wi-Fi supports route planning and entertainment during your stay. The hotel also offers complimentary parking for around 60 vehicles without advance reservations.
Activities
Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Rinnoji Temple, and Futarasan Shrine form the heart of Nikko’s UNESCO World Heritage area. The district is about 10 minutes away by car, allowing you to visit early before returning to the hotel for an afternoon soak.
Kanmangafuchi Abyss offers a quieter riverside walk beside rows of stone Jizo statues. Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park combines historic architecture with seasonal gardens, while the Takinoo path leads through a cedar forest to a less crowded shrine area.
Kirifuri Falls is another rewarding outing near the hotel. For a longer drive, you can continue toward Kirifuri Highland and Ozasa Ranch or travel into Oku-Nikko for Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls.
