Winter brings deep snow and quick access to skiing and snowboarding. When the mountains turn green, you can ride toward Tsugaike Nature Park, walk through alpine wetlands, and enjoy views across the Northern Alps. At the end of the day, return for a warm meal and a long soak in the indoor hot spring bath.
Accommodation
Choose from Japanese rooms, Western rooms, and Japanese-Western rooms. The hotel has 25 rooms, including six Japanese rooms, 17 Western rooms, and two Japanese-Western rooms.
Japanese rooms range from compact six-tatami layouts to larger rooms with eight to ten tatami mats or 13 to 15 tatami mats. You can relax on the tatami during the day and sleep on futon bedding at night.
Western rooms include single and twin layouts with beds, making them a practical choice when you prefer familiar sleeping arrangements. Japanese-Western rooms combine twin beds with a six-tatami area, giving you space to sit close to the floor while still sleeping in a bed.
Current room categories include a private bath and toilet. Your room also provides free Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning, a television, telephone, refrigerator, electric kettle, Japanese tea set, hangers, hairdryer, towels, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. All rooms are non-smoking, with a separate smoking room available inside the hotel.
Dining
Meals focus on handmade cooking and the changing flavours of Shinshu. Seasonal dishes feature highland vegetables grown around Tsugaike, along with mountain vegetables, mushrooms, and ingredients from local rivers.
Fresh underground water is drawn from a private well that reaches more than 100 metres below the hotel. Fed by water from the Northern Alps, it supports the cooking and adds another connection to the surrounding mountain landscape.
Dinner and breakfast are served in the dining room. The menu and serving style change with the season and your selected stay, allowing you to enjoy warming food in winter and lighter dishes built around fresh local produce during the green season.
Onsen and Wellness
Warm up in separate indoor hot spring baths for men and women. The bathing area provides a simple place to ease your legs after skiing, snowboarding, hiking, or travelling through the mountains.
The water comes from Hakuba Himekawa Onsen. It is a weakly alkaline, hypotonic, high-temperature sodium chloride spring, with a source temperature of 49.4°C. The water is associated with relief from joint pain, neuralgia, stiff shoulders, bruises, sprains, sensitivity to cold, and physical fatigue.
The baths open from 4:00 PM to midnight and again from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM. You can enjoy a long evening soak after returning from the slopes or start the morning in the hot spring before breakfast.
There is no open-air bath, sauna, private bath, or room with a private hot spring. Your room includes a regular-water bathroom when you prefer to bathe alone.
Guests with Tattoos
You cannot use the shared hot spring bath if you have tattoos. There is no private hot spring bath.
Facilities
Spend time in the lounge before dinner or meet your travelling companions in the open lobby area. The hotel also includes a dining room, indoor hot spring baths, a large hall, a gymnasium, vending machines, a coin laundry, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a separate smoking room.

During the warmer months, ride the gondola and ropeway toward Tsugaike Nature Park. Wooden paths lead through alpine wetlands filled with seasonal flowers, ponds, cool mountain air, and viewpoints toward the Hakuba mountain range.
You can also try the outdoor attractions at Hakuba Tsugaike WOW, explore nearby walking routes, or use the hotel as a base for discovering other parts of Hakuba Valley and Otari Village.
