Located just a short walk from the iconic Stone Steps Street, this ryokan offers you a chance to relax in spacious tatami baths, dine on carefully crafted seasonal meals, and soak in private hot spring baths—all with a strong sense of hospitality and thoughtfulness. Whether you’re here to explore or unwind, you’ll find everything you need for a peaceful stay.

Accommodation

Choose from a variety of rooms tailored to your preferences:

  • Rooms with Private Open-Air Baths: Enjoy Ikaho’s soft hot spring water at any time in your own spacious open-air bath, attached to a 15.5-tatami Japanese-style room.
  • Designer Bath Rooms: These Japanese-style rooms offer elegant, custom bathtubs with beautiful lighting at night. Please note, these baths do not use hot spring water.
  • Simmons Bed Rooms: Western-style rooms designed for comfort, equipped with premium Simmons beds for a restful sleep.
  • VIP Rooms on the Top Floor: These large rooms feature panoramic views of the mountains, spacious layouts, and a private Jacuzzi bath.
  • Standard Rooms: Simple and calming, these rooms include Japanese-style 10 or 15.5-tatami spaces with plenty of natural light.

Every room includes basic amenities like air purifiers, refrigerators, TVs, and private bathrooms. Most rooms are fully non-smoking.

Dining

Dinner at Hotel Kimura celebrates Ikaho’s seasonal bounty. Expect beautifully presented dishes using local vegetables, fresh seafood, and Joshu beef. The pork shabu-shabu includes 300 grams of meat per person, and the live grilled abalone leaves a lasting impression.

Optional upgrades include:

  • Assorted Sashimi Platters
  • Wagyu Steak
  • Abalone Sashimi or Grilled Abalone
  • Raw Horse Meat

Each dish is crafted with attention to both flavor and presentation, making every meal a visual and culinary experience. Please note: the ryokan does not accommodate allergy or preference-based menu changes.

Onsen and Wellness

Step into one of the most unique bathing experiences in the region—the Tatami Bath. These hot spring baths use special breathable tatami mats that don’t retain moisture. They feel soft underfoot and reduce the risk of slipping, making them ideal for children and elderly visitors.

You’ll also find:

  • Large Tatami Bath: Spacious, non-slip, and filled with gentle steam.
  • Open-Air Bath: Relax while watching the sky and soaking in the natural mountain breeze.

Private Baths:

  • Fureai no Yu: Known as the “mega bath”, this bath fits up to 8 people.
  • Gin no Yu: Features wooden interiors for a modern, calming soak.
  • Raku no Yu: Compact and cozy, ideal for couples.

Private baths are free to use in the morning (7:00–9:45 AM, in 45-minute slots). Outside those hours, fees apply and reservations are required.

The spring itself—Ikaho Onsen—contains metasilicic acid, a natural moisturizing mineral known for its beauty-enhancing properties. The gentle heat promotes circulation and soothes fatigue.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, you cannot use the large communal or open-air baths. To enjoy the hot spring, please reserve a private bath during your stay.
