Overview

Hotel Oak Forest gives you a comfortable mountain stay in the Misorano area of Hakuba, Nagano. You stay at 3549 Misorano, Hokujo, surrounded by trees and close to Hakuba’s ski areas, hiking routes, and outdoor activities. The hotel works well when you want a relaxed base with natural hot spring bathing, simple rooms, meals on site, ski support, and free shuttle access to major resort areas.

You are close to Happo, Hakuba 47, Hakuba Goryu, Iwatake, and Tsugaike by shuttle or car, while the hotel itself stays away from the busiest lift-front areas. After a day on the mountain, you can return to a warm room, soak in the hot spring, eat dinner at the restaurant, and rest before the next day outdoors.

Accommodation

You can choose between Western-style twin rooms and traditional Japanese-style rooms. The twin rooms measure 22 square meters and include two single beds, with an extra bed available for the room. This works well when you want the ease of beds after skiing, hiking, or a long travel day.

The traditional Japanese-style rooms measure 30 square meters and include 10 tatami mats with space for 2 to 4 futons. This room type gives you a more classic Japanese stay, with a wider floor area where you can sit, stretch, and relax during the day before sleeping on futons at night.

Rooms include an LED TV, refrigerator, safety box, air conditioning, deep soaking bathtub, shower, hair dryer, free toiletries, toilet, electric kettle, yukata robes, bidet, free Wi-Fi, and blackout curtains. In-room massage is also available, which is useful after a full day of skiing, snowboarding, trekking, or cycling.

Dining

The restaurant serves seasonal dishes, with dinner starting from 6:00 PM and breakfast starting from 7:00 AM every day. Dinner examples include Wagyu steak dinner and sukiyaki gozen dinner, giving you a satisfying meal without needing to go back out into Hakuba at night.

Breakfast gives you an easy start before outdoor activities. You can eat at the hotel, prepare for your day, and then head out for skiing, sightseeing, trekking, or shuttle access to the slopes. This simple dining rhythm works especially well in winter, when staying in for dinner can feel much easier than searching for a restaurant after dark.

Onsen and Wellness

Hotel Oak Forest has indoor and outdoor hot spring baths using Hakuba Himekawa Onsen water. The spring quality is listed as a chloride onsen, and the bath is designed to help you relax after a full day in the mountains. You can use the onsen as part of your stay, while outside visitors may also use it for a fee.

The listed bathing benefits include support for external wounds, chronic dermatitis, bruises, sprains, chronic rheumatism, gout, vascular sclerosis, and related conditions. You should enjoy these as traditional hot spring indications rather than medical treatment. The outdoor bath may close during winter depending on weather, so on snowy or severe-weather days, the indoor bath may become your main bathing option.

If You Have Tattoos

Tattoos are not allowed in the public baths.

Activities

In winter, you can use Hotel Oak Forest as a base for skiing and snowboarding across Hakuba’s main resort areas. Happo is about 10 minutes away, Hakuba 47 is about 10 minutes away, Hakuba Goryu is about 15 minutes away, Iwatake is about 15 minutes away, and Tsugaike is about 20 minutes away by the hotel’s listed shuttle access.

In spring, summer, and autumn, Hakuba offers trekking, outdoor sports, cycling, mountain views, and changing leaves. You can enjoy the mountains without the winter crowds, then return to the hotel for a hot spring bath and a calm evening. The location also works well if you want to explore wider Nagano highlights such as Zenkoji Temple, Matsumoto Castle, the Snow Monkey area, or the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route as part of a longer trip.

Additional Features

Hotel Oak Forest suits you when you want a practical Hakuba stay with natural hot spring bathing, simple room choices, restaurant dining, ski support, and easy shuttle access to major mountain areas. It gives you the comfort of a hotel while keeping the feeling of a mountain base, so you can focus on skiing, hiking, resting, and enjoying Hakuba at your own pace.
