Overview

Since 1957, Suisantei has stood by the scenic Toyohira River in the historic town of Jozankei, welcoming travelers with a heartfelt spirit that aims to leave a “treasure” in your heart. Whether you stroll the charming hot spring streets or relax beside the flowing greenery, you’ll feel the warmth of enduring hospitality tailored to make every stay meaningful.

Accommodation

With 57 rooms spread among two wings, Suisantei offers both river‑side and mountain‑side views, each capturing a unique atmosphere.

River‑side rooms place you closer to Jozankei’s elegant hot spring streets and gentle riverside strolls.

Mountain‑side rooms immerse you in lush forest scenery.

All rooms reflect a blend of traditional style and modern comfort, thoughtfully designed to appeal to solo travelers, couples, and families alike.

Dining

Suisantei puts great care into crafting meals that showcase Hokkaido’s seasonal bounty and heartfelt preparation by skilled chefs.

Seafood and local produce → Chefs source fresh fish from Otaru or Funka Bay, local vegetables, and carnivorous delights from Hokkaido’s rich harvest and personally inspect each supplier.

Dining venues → Choose from three dining rooms:

  • Kuwano‑ki: Casual restaurant seating, traditional tatami tables, or counter seats near the charcoal grill.
  • Sho‑an: A cozy semi-private dining space for families or couples.
  • Yuai Shichiseki: A premium counter setup or private rooms where you can watch your meal prepared.

À la carte options → Add seasonal dishes to special occasions—you can inquire with the kitchen directly to customize your experience.

Onsen and Wellness

Suisantei draws from three natural spring sources—rich in sodium chloride—directly flowing from the riverbed of the Toyohira River. These springs produce iron‑tinged water that warms the body from the core and offers detoxing benefits, pain relief, and skin nourishment.

Main baths (Grand public baths)

Hisen-no-Yu: Features six tubs, a jacuzzi, sauna, and a relaxing lounge adjacent to the baths.

Katsura-no-Yu: Named after a 300-year-old katsura tree visible from the open-air bath—nature and immersion unite.

Forest Bath House—“Mori-no-Yu”

Located in a secluded annex surrounded by forest, it recreates the ambience of a traditional healing retreat with minimal lighting and no amenities—just pure, reverent soaking.

Private Baths

A pair of river-view baths are available to you 24 hours a day with reservations. Lock in your own time to enjoy the flowing hot spring in privacy.
