Overview
Nikko Station Hotel Classic gives you one of the easiest locations in Nikko. You stay directly in front of JR Nikko Station, with Tobu Nikko Station also about 1 minute away on foot. This makes arrival simple, especially when you come by train with luggage.
The hotel works well when you want a convenient base for Nikko sightseeing, natural hot spring bathing, and easy access to buses, trains, restaurants, and shops. You can check in, leave your bags, and begin exploring without worrying about extra transfers.
Accommodation
You choose from five room types: Western Twin Room, Western Double Room, Modern Japanese-Style Double Room, Modern Japanese-Style Triple Room, and Suite Room. The hotel has 71 rooms in total, giving you enough choice for solo travel, couples, or small-group stays.
Western Twin Rooms look toward the historic JR Nikko Station building, so you can enjoy the station-front setting from your room. These rooms suit you well when you want a simple, comfortable stay with proper beds and easy access to transport.
Western Double Rooms work well when you want a compact room with one bed and a calm place to return to after sightseeing. Modern Japanese-Style Double and Triple Rooms add a more Japanese touch to the stay while keeping the ease of a hotel room.
The Suite Room gives you the most spacious option. It works well when you want more room to sit, rest, and spend time indoors between outings.
Room facilities include Simmons beds, unit bath, 40-inch wall-mounted LCD TV, wired LAN, free wireless LAN, electric kettle, refrigerator, safe, washlet toilet, hair dryer, bathrobe, bath towel, and face towel.
Room amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hairbrush, shower cap, cleansing oil, skin lotion, and emulsion.
Dining
Dining at Nikko Station Hotel Classic gives you several options inside the hotel. You can enjoy breakfast buffet, restaurant dining, Japanese cuisine, and drinks without needing to leave the building.
Breakfast is served buffet-style. This works well before a day of sightseeing because you can eat at your own pace and choose a lighter or fuller start depending on your plans.
For dinner, the hotel has three dining options: Buffet Restaurant Plaisir, À La Carte Restaurant Terrace, and Japanese Restaurant Sakura. This gives you flexibility depending on your mood, whether you want a relaxed buffet-style meal, Western-style à la carte dining, or Japanese food.
Nikko is known for yuba, and the hotel highlights yuba kaiseki as part of its dining appeal. If you want to enjoy Nikko’s local food culture without going far from your room, Sakura is the most fitting choice to check when booking your meal plan.
Bar Station gives you a place to enjoy drinks in the evening. It adds a more relaxed end to the day after sightseeing, dinner, and a hot spring bath.
Onsen and Wellness
The natural hot spring is one of the hotel’s main highlights. You can enjoy 100% natural hot spring water in both indoor and open-air baths, directly in front of Nikko Station.
The open-air baths were added in December 2012. Both the men’s and women’s open-air baths are large enough for more than 10 people, giving you space to stretch out and relax after walking around Nikko.
The indoor baths include two tubs on both the men’s and women’s sides: a hotter bath and a milder bath. This lets you choose the temperature that feels best for your body.
The spring is Nikko Onsen, with water from the source listed as almost colorless, clear, tasteless, and odorless. The water is an alkaline simple hot spring, with a pH of about 8.8 and a source temperature of 45.1°C.
Guests with Tattoos
Tattoos may not be permitted in the shared bathing areas.

Activities
You stay in one of the easiest places for exploring Nikko. JR Nikko Station is right in front of the hotel, and Tobu Nikko Station is about 1 minute away on foot. Buses to Nikko’s major sights also depart from the station area, so you can move around without needing a car.
You can visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Rinno-ji Temple, Futarasan Shrine, Shinkyo Bridge, and other World Heritage sites by local bus or taxi. The hotel also works well for day trips to Lake Chuzenji, Kegon Falls, and the Oku-Nikko area.
After sightseeing, you return to the station area, soak in the natural hot spring, and rest in a Western-style room. This easy rhythm is the main strength of staying here.
