Overview

Sennen no Yu Koroman offers you a peaceful retreat in the heart of Kinosaki Onsen, where tradition and comfort come together in a classic sukiya-style wooden ryokan. The inn reflects centuries of hospitality and Japanese aesthetics. Located just a short walk from three of the seven famous public hot springs of Kinosaki, this historic property invites you to relax, explore, and enjoy the charm of this time-honored hot spring town.

Accommodation

You can choose from a variety of room types to match your stay. Standard Japanese-style rooms offer a quiet space to unwind, with traditional interiors and calming touches. For extra privacy, reserve a room with a private open-air bath and enjoy the soothing water while taking in garden views. Some of these rooms include garden courtyards, gentle sunlight, and koi ponds, making your bath time even more special.

Western-style beds are available in rooms that blend Japanese and Western elements, ideal if you prefer sleeping off the tatami. For larger groups or family trips, select a spacious group room where everyone can stay together in one space.

Please note: while private open-air baths are available in some rooms, the water in these baths is not from a hot spring source due to local regulations.

Dining

Kinosaki is surrounded by the sea, mountains, and fertile farmlands—and every meal at Koroman celebrates that bounty. The chefs prepare seasonal kaiseki-style dishes using fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan, local vegetables, and regional delicacies. You might enjoy specialties like Tajima beef, snow crab, or handmade soba, depending on the time of year.

Dinner is served in your room, allowing you to enjoy each course in privacy and comfort. In the morning, a nourishing breakfast is also served in your room. Expect a gentle meal that may include hot tofu, grilled fish, miso soup, seasonal vegetables, and pickles, carefully prepared to help you start the day feeling refreshed.

Onsen and Wellness

The ryokan’s hot spring baths have welcomed travelers for generations. Soak in one of the large communal baths and enjoy a relaxing soak surrounded by warm wood and natural stone.

Jurei no Yu: This large bath is built with aged woods like pine, cypress, and Japanese black pine. The wood scent fills the air, helping you feel deeply relaxed.

Hakua no Yu: This bath is made with imported white marble, giving the space a clean, modern feel. The marble absorbs the minerals from the spring water, adding to your soak’s benefits.

Both baths use natural hot spring water sourced from Kinosaki Onsen and are open in the morning and evening. The mineral-rich chloride spring is known for easing skin conditions, fatigue, nerve pain, and joint discomfort.

For more privacy, head to one of the two private family baths in the annex. These baths are tatami-floored and use 100% natural hot spring water. You can enjoy them free of charge as a hotel guest.

Guests with Tattoos

You can use the private family baths in the annex without restrictions. These baths are ideal if you prefer a quiet, personal soak.

Facilities

The inn’s traditional architecture features wooden beams, hand-crafted details, and warm lighting. Throughout the property, you’ll find displays of art and pottery from well-known Japanese artists.

The lobby and lounge offer a relaxed space to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. Handrails and elevated chairs are available for your comfort, and some guest rooms include Western-style beds.

There are also banquet rooms for larger gatherings, gift shops with regional specialties and original Koroman items, and two restaurants—Kanro and Sakura—that offer a fresh take on Japanese dining.

Garden

Step into the ryokan’s quiet garden paths, and you’ll feel the passage of time slow down. The building’s classic woodwork blends naturally with the streets of Kinosaki. As you walk through the entrance, past the traditional gate and stone paths, you’re embraced by the warmth of the past.

A quiet koi pond and carefully maintained greenery give you a view of nature from your room or while sitting by the window. The garden’s mood shifts with each season—spring blossoms, summer breeze, autumn leaves, and winter snow each bring their own beauty.

Activities

From Koroman, you can walk to many of Kinosaki’s seven famous hot springs, each with a unique charm. Stroll the lantern-lit streets in your yukata, stop by local shops, or join seasonal festivals that bring the town to life. If you’re driving an electric or hybrid car, ask the staff about charging stations on-site.
