Overview

Super Hotel Fukushima Iwaki gives you a simple, comfortable base in Iwaki, Fukushima. You stay along Rikuzenhama Kaido, also known as Route 6, with easy car access from Iwaki Station and Iwaki Chuo IC. The hotel is located at 38 Karukaya, Hiranaka Kamiya, Iwaki City, Fukushima, around 10 minutes by car from Iwaki Station and around 20 minutes by car from Iwaki Chuo IC.

This was the 125th Super Hotel in Japan and the first Super Hotel to open in Fukushima Prefecture. You can expect free breakfast, a natural hot spring with separate bathing areas for men and women, and a welcome bar. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

Accommodation

Your room focuses on rest, ease, and a good night’s sleep. The hotel uses original mattresses, soft lighting, clean water, clean air, and “healthy ion water” to help you relax after travel or work.

You can choose from practical room types such as single rooms, extra single rooms, super rooms, connecting rooms, and a barrier-free room. Single and extra single rooms are 12㎡ and include a 150cm-wide double bed. The extra single room adds a wider desk, which suits you well if you need to work. The super room includes a 150cm-wide double bed and a 90cm-wide loft bed, while the connecting room can fit up to four people.

In-room features include a 32-inch LCD TV, air purifier with humidifier, wired LAN, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, electric kettle, dryer, alarm clock, deodorant spray, and other useful items.

Dining

You can start your morning with the hotel’s free breakfast buffet, served daily from 6:20 AM to 8:30 AM. The official site highlights seasonal organic vegetable salad, freshly baked bread, a balanced daily buffet, and dishes inspired by Fukushima.

For drinks in the evening, you can use the welcome bar, which serves free alcoholic drinks and soft drinks from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Times may change, so it is best to confirm at the hotel during your stay.

For lunch or dinner nearby, the official site lists local options such as Mayur for curry and naan, Suigetsuen for Chinese food, and Bistro cafe NWANNA for Western-style dishes. These spots are around 3 to 5 minutes away by car.

Onsen and Wellness

Super Hotel Fukushima Iwaki has a natural hot spring called Fukuko no Yu. You can use separate bathing areas for men and women from 3:00 PM to 9:00 AM, with cleaning between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

The official site describes the spring water as weak alkaline and hypotonic. It is said to help ease fatigue, support relief from joint pain and nerve pain, and leave your skin feeling smooth.

Guests with Tattoos

Super Hotel’s official accommodation terms state that people with tattoos may not use the public bath. Please check directly with the hotel before using the hot spring. You can still use the private bath in your room.

You can use the hotel as your base for exploring Iwaki. The official site recommends Spa Resort Hawaiians, a large leisure complex with heated pools, hot springs, hotels, and golf.

You can also visit Aquamarine Fukushima, an aquarium focused on the meeting point of the Oyashio and Kuroshio currents off the Fukushima coast. Inside, you can see large tanks, marine animals, coral reef displays, and interactive areas.
