Overview

Greenity Iwata places you on a green hillside in Iwata City, where open sky, garden views, and quiet space shape the whole stay. If you travel by train and bus, you can take the bus from JR Iwata Station to Iwata Eigyosho, then walk about four minutes to the hotel.

This retreat-style hotel connects you with nature, local Enshu culture, seasonal food, and natural hot spring bathing. You can relax in a spacious room, walk through the large garden, enjoy French or Japanese dining, soak in Iwata Tenjin no Yu, and slow down without feeling far from the city.

Accommodation

Greenity Iwata has 55 rooms, and every room measures at least 38 square meters. You can choose from 12 room types across the Premier Room and Suite Room categories. The design focuses on open space, natural light, regional touches, and comfort, with art, coffee, Japanese tea, teacups, and other details that bring in the character of the Enshu area.

The Premier Rooms are 38-square-meter rooms with either twin, king, or triple layouts. Premier Twin A and Premier King A have a different atmosphere from Premier Twin B and Premier King B, so you can choose the style that feels right for your stay. Premier Triple gives you a wider option when you want to share the room with family or friends.

The Suite Rooms give you more space and include in-room baths where you can enjoy the hotel’s natural moor spring. You can choose from Universal Suite, Retreat Suite, Retreat Suite King, Terrace Suite, Totoumi Suite, Euphoria Suite, and THE GREENITY. The Universal Suite is designed with wheelchair use in mind and has a room bath with natural hot spring water. The Retreat Suites offer a 58.5-square-meter stay, while Terrace Suite adds a private terrace. Totoumi Suite gives you 71.5 square meters, Euphoria Suite offers 96.5 square meters, and THE GREENITY gives you 87.5 square meters plus a 25-square-meter terrace.

Room amenities include toothbrush, hairbrush, bath towels, face towels, hand towel, bath mat, body towel, skincare set, cotton set, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, and slippers. Suite rooms also include a razor. Room equipment includes a TV, temperature-control kettle, hair dryer, refrigerator, humidifying air purifier, safe, Bluetooth speaker, hangers, glasses, coffee cups, teacups, spoons, and a hot spring bag. Smart TVs include YouTube and Abema TV, with other streaming services available when you use your own account. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, the restaurants, and the lobby.

Dining

Greenity Iwata gives you several ways to enjoy the flavors of the Enshu region. At Rikka, you can enjoy French-inspired dining while looking out toward the garden. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with dishes shaped around seasonal local ingredients and careful presentation. Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:00, lunch from 11:30 to 14:30, and dinner from 17:30 to 21:30, though times may change.

At Tokiwa, you can enjoy Japanese cuisine built around the seasonal gifts of Enshu’s sea, mountains, and rivers. The menu respects Japanese cooking traditions while adding creative touches, giving you a refined meal in a calm Japanese setting. Tokiwa serves lunch and dinner, and it also has three private rooms named Momo, Fuji, and Yuzu for anniversaries, special meals, and private dining.

If you want a more intimate dining experience, Tokiwa also has a fully reservable teppanyaki counter with six seats. Here, the chef prepares local Enshu ingredients in front of you, so you can enjoy the sound, aroma, and movement of the cooking as part of the meal. Teppanyaki is available for lunch and dinner by advance reservation, and children of elementary school age or younger cannot use this counter.

Breakfast is served as a set menu. You can choose an omelet or scrambled eggs as the main plate, and the meal brings in vegetables, fermentation, koji, and Enshu ingredients to help you start the day gently. In the Lounge and Bar, you can enjoy coffee from a local roaster, Iwata-grown Japanese black tea, seasonal sweets, light meals, afternoon tea by reservation, and cocktails made with local fruit in the evening.

Onsen and Wellness

Greenity Iwata’s natural hot spring, Iwata Tenjin no Yu, uses a rare moor spring pumped from about 1,500 meters underground. Moor spring water contains plant-based organic matter, including humic and fulvic components, and it has a clear brown tone with a smooth feel on the skin. This water is often called “beauty bath” water because of its moisturizing and warming feel.

The hot spring has two bath spaces, Daichi and Sora, and you can enjoy them on a daily rotation. Both spaces include a large indoor bath, open-air bath, sauna, cold bath, and outdoor cooling area. Daichi has a calm, grounded design with straight lines and soft light, while Sora has a brighter shape with curves and an open feeling. The open-air baths use free-flowing spring water, so you can soak while feeling the air and looking toward the garden.

The sauna experience is also a key part of the stay. Daichi has a step-style Finnish sauna where you can enjoy löyly, with an outdoor cooling area facing the garden. Sora has a distinctive gourd-shaped wooden sauna, also with löyly and a garden-facing cooling area. Both bathing areas include powder rooms designed to match the mood of the bath space.

The spring quality is alkaline simple spring water, classified as hypotonic and weakly alkaline. The listed benefits include relief for nerve pain, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, joint stiffness, chronic digestive issues, hemorrhoids, sensitivity to cold, and recovery after illness. Staying customers can use the hot spring from 6:00 to 9:00 and from 15:00 to 24:00. Day-use bathing is also available from 10:00 to 16:00, with last entry at 15:00.

Guests with Tattoos

Greenity Iwata has shared hot spring baths. You cannot enter the hot spring area with tattoos or body paint unless the tattoo or body paint can be fully covered with a hotel-designated seal. You can ask reception about the seal. If your tattoo cannot be covered with the designated seal, choose a suite with an in-room moor spring bath so you can enjoy the hot spring water in your own room.

Facilities

Greenity Iwata has a lobby lounge, garden, restaurants, lounge and bar, terrace lounge, hot spring area, banquet and meeting rooms, wedding spaces, wellness room, beauty salon, shop, pastry counter, free Wi-Fi, and free parking. The shop is on the 1st floor and is open from 7:00 to 22:00, with hotel goods and amenity items available. The pastry counter is also on the 1st floor and is open from 13:00 to 23:00, while supplies last. The garden covers about 5,000 square meters and includes around 700 plantings, with paths inspired by the Tenryu River system and the valleys of the Iwatahara plateau.

The Lounge and Bar faces the garden and has counter seating, hall seating, and terrace seating. You can use it for coffee, Japanese black tea, light meals, sweets, afternoon tea, cocktails, and casual work time, with power outlets available. The wellness room is open 24 hours and is free for staying customers, so you can stretch, do yoga, or keep up with light fitness during your stay. The beauty salon has private treatment rooms and is open from 13:00 to 21:00, with final reception at 20:00 and reservations prioritized.

For events, Greenity Iwata has banquet rooms and meeting spaces, including Kirameki, a hall of more than 500 square meters that can be divided into three spaces, and Hinata, a bright hall with a private balcony and garden views. The hotel also has HARENO HALL, a chapel with warm wood details and natural light for weddings. Parking is free, with space for 200 vehicles, including large vehicles.

Activities

You can enjoy your stay without leaving the property by walking through the garden, spending time in the lounge, soaking in the hot spring, using the sauna, joining wellness time in the 24-hour room, or booking afternoon tea. Seasonal events and limited menus are also part of the hotel experience, so each visit can feel different depending on when you stay.

Around the hotel, you can explore local nature, culture, sports, and family-friendly attractions. Okegaya-numa Visitor Center is about three minutes away by car and is known for dragonflies, birds, and aquatic plants. Yamaha Motor Communication Plaza is about five minutes away by car and shares the history of Yamaha Motor. Yamaha Stadium is also about five minutes away and hosts football and rugby. Mitsuke Tenjin Yanahime Shrine is about six minutes away, while Iwata City New Creative Center, Ioji Temple, and Fuhachimangu Shrine are also easy to reach by car.

For a wider day out, you can visit Kasuisai, seasonal flower spots, local parks, strawberry farms, coastal areas, or Ecopa. The location works well when you want both quiet hotel time and access to the culture and nature of western Shizuoka.
