Hotel Floracion Nasu is a hot spring resort hotel in the Nasu Highlands, surrounded by trees, open grounds, and the fresh air of Tochigi’s countryside. You come here for a relaxed stay built around spacious rooms, self-sourced hot spring water, seasonal food, and time in nature. The property is especially suited to families, couples, and adults who want a quiet break with easy access to Nasu’s sightseeing areas.

The hotel sits within a wide natural setting, with a walking course along a stream and views toward the Nasu mountain range from the grounds. You can use it as a base for Nasu’s museums, farms, parks, and outdoor attractions, or keep your stay simple with meals, onsen time, and short walks around the property.

Accommodation

You can choose from Western-style rooms, Japanese-style rooms, comfort-floor rooms, and a twin suite. The rooms are designed with a European classic feel, large windows, natural light, and views of the surrounding greenery. Main room types include Deluxe Twin, Deluxe King, Force Room, Japanese Room, Compact One-Bed Room, Comfort Twin, Comfort King, Comfort Force, and Suite Twin.

The Deluxe Twin Room gives you a spacious layout with two semi-double beds and two washbasins. The Deluxe King Room has one king-size bed and two washbasins, making it a good choice when you want a larger bed and more room to settle in. The Force Room has four semi-double beds, which works well when you travel with family or friends.

The Japanese Room has 10 tatami mats and sits on the same floor as the large public bath and open-air bath, so you can move easily between your room and the onsen. Some Japanese rooms allow smoking, while many other room types are non-smoking.

The Comfort Floor sits on the top floor. These rooms have higher ceilings, triangular windows, and different interior color themes depending on the room. The Comfort Twin and Comfort Force rooms give you the same generous room sizes as the standard Western rooms, with a brighter top-floor feel.

The Suite Twin is the most spacious room type, with a calm green-toned interior, classical furniture, two semi-double beds, two washbasins, a marble bathroom, and a separate shower booth.

Dining

Dining takes place at Ristorante Bergamot, where you can enjoy meals in samue and setta sandals. Breakfast is served in Japanese and Western buffet style. One highlight is the omelet station, where you choose your fillings and enjoy a fresh omelet prepared in front of you. Breakfast also features local ingredients such as Nasu Goyou eggs.

Dinner centers on the Nasu Highland Buffet, paired with a main dish you choose depending on your plan. Main dish options include Japanese black beef steak cooked in the live kitchen, chef’s special handmade hamburger steak, and pork dishes. The buffet includes hors d’oeuvres, soups, salads, and desserts, with around 40 buffet items.

The food concept highlights local and farm-linked ingredients. You can enjoy Nasu beef raised at Shikishima Farm Nasu Ranch, Nasu Goyou eggs with rich yolks and a gentle sweetness, and fresh Nasu Highland vegetables.

Room service is also available during evening hours, with options such as beef stew set, steak rice bowl set, and pasta set.

Onsen and Wellness

Hotel Floracion Nasu has its own hot spring source, Shikishima Onsen “Aoi no Yu.” The water is drawn from within the hotel grounds and used as free-flowing hot spring water. Its clear blue tone can change depending on weather and temperature, giving each soak a slightly different impression.

The spring quality is sodium-sulfate, chloride, and bicarbonate spring water. It is known as “Bijin no Yu” and “Keshosui no Yu,” because the water is associated with smooth-feeling skin. The source temperature is 48.6°C, with pH 7.5, and the water contains metasilicic acid and metaboric acid.

You can use the large indoor bath, open-air bath, and sauna. The women’s bath is Ajisai, with indoor bath, open-air bath, and sauna. The men’s bath is Rindo, also with indoor bath, open-air bath, and sauna. Bathing hours are split between morning and afternoon/evening sessions.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, you cannot use the hot spring public bath.

Facilities

Hotel Floracion Nasu gives you space to enjoy the stay indoors and outdoors. You can start with the streamside walking course, which takes about 20 minutes to complete and follows the water through the property grounds. It works well for a morning walk, a quiet break after the onsen, or a simple way to enjoy the Nasu Highland air without leaving the property.

Inside the hotel, you can spend time in the Green Lounge on the third floor, where large windows bring in natural light and the setting works well for reading or a quiet drink before dinner. The fourth floor has a kids’ space with play equipment and a foosball table, plus a comic library with about 600 books. You can read in the library or take up to five books back to your room.

For evening time, you can use Karaoke Snack Rosemary on the second floor with advance reservation. The shop beside the front lobby sells Nasu Highland souvenirs and Shikishima Farm items, including original curry and hamburger products.

You also have free Wi-Fi in rooms, the lobby, and restaurant; vending machines on each floor; a free ice machine on the second floor; 100 outdoor parking spaces; and a direct shuttle bus from JR Nasu-Shiobara Station with advance reservation. The front desk, lobby, and restaurant are on the third floor, while the large public bath is on the second floor.

Activities

You can enjoy a slower day on the property with the streamside walking course, the onsen, the sauna, the Green Lounge, the comic library, and the shop. The walking course gives you a short, easy way to enjoy the trees, stream sounds, and mountain views from the grounds.

Around the hotel, Nasu gives you many options for nature, farms, museums, and family-friendly attractions. The property also connects well with Shikishima Farm Cheese Terrace, where you can enjoy views from the hill and see Brown Swiss cows and goats.

If you arrive by train, the direct shuttle from JR Nasu-Shiobara Station makes the trip easier with advance reservation. By car, the hotel is about 15 minutes from Nasu IC.
