Overview

Hotel Kogure sits at the heart of Ikaho Onsen, where natural springs have flowed for more than 400 years. This ryokan holds one-fourth of the total output of Ikaho’s famed “Kogane-no-Yu,” and continues to protect this golden source passed down since the 16th century. The hot spring water flows directly from the earth and changes color from clear to golden as it touches the air. When you stay at Hotel Kogure, you can experience this rare water, take in views of Mount Tanigawa and Mount Hotaka, and enjoy warm hospitality that blends history with comfort.

Accommodation

Hotel Kogure offers a wide range of rooms, from spacious suites to cozy, modern retreats.

Kihin-shitsu “Tenku” Suite: Relax in the most elevated room in Ikaho, over 200 square meters of space with a panoramic view. This suite includes the option for private dining.

Sansuitei Rooms: Stay in rooms that include a private open-air bath and enjoy your dinner in the room for a more peaceful experience.

Shokatei Rooms: Choose between Japanese or Japanese-Western styles. These rooms offer extra space and comfort, perfect for seasonal stays.

Yofukan Twin Rooms: Enjoy a quieter stay on a separate floor with Western-style beds and views of the surrounding mountains.

All rooms include a bathroom, bidet toilet, tea set, safe, hair dryer, and Wi-Fi. You’ll also find yukata, bath towels, toiletries, and a quiet atmosphere for rest.

Dining

Meals at Hotel Kogure showcase the best of Gunma’s natural bounty. The kitchen creates seasonal kaiseki courses using local vegetables, meats, and the highly prized “Yuki Hotaka” rice from Kawaba Village.

Dinner: Enjoy handmade kaiseki dishes with rich colors and delicate flavors. These meals change with the seasons, so each visit brings something new. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, you can request a special course or children’s options.

Breakfast: Greet the day with a buffet of more than 50 items. Dine with views of the mountains while choosing freshly made omelets, tempura, and local specialties. On certain days, breakfast may be served as a traditional Japanese meal instead of a buffet.

If you have food allergies, inform the ryokan at least three days in advance. The kitchen can accommodate basic requests, but may not be able to remove all traces of allergens.

Onsen and Wellness

Hotel Kogure is known for its abundant, naturally flowing spring water. The “Kogane-no-Yu” gently warms your body and promotes circulation. The water’s natural iron content creates its distinctive golden color, and its mild composition makes it especially gentle on the skin.

Public Baths – “SENRAKU” and “SENYU”: These spacious bath areas feature large indoor and open-air baths surrounded by nature. Relax in a garden setting or soak under the sky, surrounded by steam and silence.

Private Panorama Bath: Reserve this bath for uninterrupted time with mountain views. The calm setting makes it ideal for couples or families.

Ashiyu Garden “SENKYAKU BANRAI”: Dip your feet in warm spring water while enjoying tea in a peaceful garden corner.

The onsen is perfect for anyone, including those visiting with children or sensitive skin. The soft water suits even babies making their onsen debut.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, consider reserving the private panorama bath for a more comfortable experience. Ask the front desk about options during your stay.
