Overview
Aji no Yado Michishio is a Japanese-style seaside ryokan in Osatsu, Toba, Mie. You stay in a town known for ama divers, fresh seafood, and clear coastal scenery. Chidorigahama Beach sits in front of the ryokan, and on clear days you may even see Mt. Fuji across the water.
This ryokan suits you when you want sea-facing rooms, seafood meals, shared hot spring baths, private reservable baths, and an easy base for Ise-Shima sightseeing. You can visit Ise Jingu and other local attractions, then return for dinner, bath time, and a quiet night by the Pacific.

Dining
Dinner centers on kaiseki-style cuisine using seafood from Toba and Ise-Shima, Mie-brand Matsusaka beef, seasonal oysters, and vegetables grown locally. The meal changes by plan, so you can choose a stay built around seafood, beef, or a more generous celebration-style dinner.
You can enjoy dishes such as Ise lobster, abalone, Matsusaka beef sukiyaki, special wagyu grilled on a ceramic plate, summer rock oysters, winter grilled oysters, Ise tuna sashimi, flatfish sashimi, and sashimi boat platters as optional advance-order dishes, depending on season and supply.
Breakfast is a Japanese set meal made to pair well with Mie-grown Koshihikari rice. You can enjoy Toba arame seaweed, mirin-dried aji from Ise-Shima, and miso soup made with Ise lobster broth during its serving season. Children’s breakfast plates are also available.
Meals may be served in the horigotatsu-style Irorian dining room, table-seating Shioji-tei, the large hall, your room, or a private dining space, depending on your plan and group size. The ryokan cannot provide allergy-specific meals because the kitchen cannot fully separate allergens.
Onsen and Wellness
The large shared baths and shared open-air baths use Shagūji Onsen water. The spring is alkaline sodium-bicarbonate cold mineral spring water with a pH around 9.3. The water is almost colorless and odorless, with a smooth feel on the skin. The ryokan heats the water and adds water to support supply and bathing temperature.
You can use the shared indoor baths and open-air baths in the afternoon and evening, then again in the morning. The listed bath amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body soap, tissue, cotton swabs, hair dryer, men’s skincare and grooming items, and women’s lotion, milky lotion, peeling gel, and face soap. Towels and bath towels are prepared in your room.
Two private reservable baths are also available: a Japanese-style wooden bath and a Western-style bath with underwater lighting. These private baths face the Pacific and work well when you want a more personal bath time, especially with children or someone who prefers not to use the shared bath. These private baths are not hot spring baths, and daily use is limited, so reserve early when you want one.
Guests with Tattoos
If you have tattoos, you can use the private baths without restriction. Make a reservation when you book your room to ensure availability.
