Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Resort Spa Mizu no Uta is a luxury ryokan located by Lake Shikotsu in Chitose City. Mizu no Uta’s concept is water, the source of life. The stay at Mizu no Uta is meant to be a gentle journey of beauty, health and healing.

Accommodation

Mizu no Uta has 49 rooms in both traditional Japanese and Western style. There are rooms with open air baths as well as rooms which can accommodate pets.

Every room has stunning views of either the courtyard or the city.

Dining

Mizu no Uta’s concept on health and healing can be seen in the ryokan’s cuisine too. The Healthy Buffet Amam features fresh vegetables, seafood, and meat from northern Japan.

For a more traditional dining experience, you can enjoy Japanese Kaiseki at the Ryori Chaya Ten no Uta, where each dish is carefully prepared with seasonal ingredients from Hokkaido.

Onsen & Wellness

The onsen at Mizu no Uta is a highlight. There are several onsen options available for you. Large public bath “Shikotsu Biyu” features an indoor and outdoor option for both men and women.

The large communal bath, open-air bath, and guest room open-air baths are heated and water is added to maintain a suitable temperature for bathing.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos or traditional irezumi, including those that are covered, you should refrain from using the large public bath. You can book a room with private onsen, however.

Facilities

This is a resort style ryokan which means you have access to a multitude of facilities. You have a fitness gym, a beauty salon and even a pillow gallery. To further the concept of water, there is even an Aqua Bar with a selection of mineral rich waters to pick from.

Activities

Mizu no Uta organizes activities to explore the natural beauty of Lake Shikotsu. These activities include guided moss corridor tours, private E-bike tours, and snowshoe hikes during winter. Reservation is recommended in advance.
