Overview
little villa Hiibi is a private rental villa in Hotaka Ariake, Azumino, set in a quiet villa area surrounded by the natural beauty of Nagano. You stay in a small, private cottage limited to one group per day, so you can relax without sharing the space with anyone outside your party. The stay feels calm, personal, and easy, with the freedom to cook, soak, read, listen to records, enjoy coffee, or spend time on the terrace at your own pace.
This property brings together the comfort of a private villa and the pleasure of a natural hot spring. You can enjoy hot spring water drawn from the Northern Alps, local ingredients, optional additive-free meals, and a warm living space that works well for a couple, a small family, or a quiet retreat in Azumino.
Accommodation
You stay in a private cottage with a living room, Japanese-style bedroom, kitchen, terrace, sanitary area, and private hot spring bath. The living room includes a television, records, a turntable, magazines, card games, and wooden toys, making the space easy to enjoy whether you want a quiet evening or time with children.
The bedroom is a simple Japanese-style room with futons. The main sleeping space can hold up to three futons, and an additional futon can be prepared in the living area when needed. The layout keeps the stay simple and uncluttered, with enough room to rest, share meals, and enjoy the slower rhythm of Azumino.
The kitchen is a full working kitchen, so you can prepare proper meals during your stay. It includes cooking equipment, tableware, a refrigerator, microwave, rice cooker, toaster oven, coffee tools, seasonings, tea, coffee, and rice available as an add-on. The villa also includes air conditioning, towels, basic toiletries, skin-care items, a hairdryer, and a washing machine with a drying function. Roomwear is not provided, so bring comfortable clothing for relaxing inside the villa.
Dining
little villa Hiibi gives you the freedom to cook for yourself or add optional meals. The food focuses on local ingredients as much as possible, with additive-free cooking and grilled dishes that feel a little more special than everyday home cooking. This works especially well if you want the privacy of a villa without giving up the feeling of a prepared meal.
Dinner may include an appetizer selection, seasonal vegetable ajillo, Dutch oven cooking, a Shinshu beef dish, self-grown rice from Matsukawa Village, and ice cream. A children’s dinner can also be arranged, with dishes such as homemade hamburger steak, additive-free sausage, vegetables, rice from Matsukawa Village, and ice cream. The meal content may change depending on ingredient availability.
Breakfast is simple and ingredient-focused. You can choose between Japanese and Western-style breakfast options depending on availability, and the ingredients are provided for you to prepare in the villa. You can enjoy the morning slowly, make coffee, cook at your own pace, and start the day without rushing to a dining room.
Onsen and Wellness
The private bath at little villa Hiibi uses natural hot spring water from the Northern Alps area. The water is used without added water and without circulation, giving you a private hot spring experience inside your own villa. The spring has a weak alkaline quality and a smooth, gentle feel, with little odor, so it is easy to enjoy even if you do not like strong sulfur-scented hot springs.
You can bathe whenever you want during your stay, without sharing the space or following the rhythm of a public bath. After a walk, a day of sightseeing, or a quiet evening on the terrace, you can soak in the natural hot spring and let your body warm slowly. The spring water is traditionally associated with relief from neuralgia, rheumatism, and sensitivity to cold.
Guests with tattoos
If you have tattoos, you can use the private hot spring bath inside the villa without concern. There are no shared public baths on-site, so you do not need to cover your tattoos while bathing at the property.
