Overview
Super Hotel Okazaki gives you a practical base for sightseeing, business, and short stays in Aichi Prefecture. You are around six minutes on foot from Meitetsu Higashi-Okazaki Station, with easy rail access to central Nagoya and convenient road access from the Okazaki Interchange.
After a day in the city, you can return for a soak in the natural hot spring, enjoy complimentary drinks in the lounge, and settle into a room designed around a good night’s sleep. A free breakfast buffet adds extra value each morning, while Okazaki Castle and the city’s historic Hatcho miso district give you plenty to explore nearby.
Super Hotel also follows an environmentally focused approach through carbon-offset stays, reduced-cleaning initiatives, organic ingredients, and other measures connected with its sustainability programme.
Accommodation
You can choose from compact rooms designed to use the available space efficiently. The 12-square-metre Standard Room includes a 150-centimetre-wide double bed, making it suitable when you are travelling alone or sharing the room.
The 12-square-metre Super Room combines the same double bed with a 90-centimetre-wide loft bed above it. This layout gives you an extra sleeping space without taking away floor area. The 17-square-metre barrier-free room provides a more spacious layout and also includes a double bed and loft bed.
Rooms use Super Hotel’s original mattresses, slightly dimmed lighting, and health ion water to support restful sleep. You also have a private unit bath, washlet toilet, refrigerator, kettle, television, hairdryer, humidifying air purifier, USB charging point, multi-device charger, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and free Wi-Fi.
You can collect sleepwear and choose a pillow from the lobby. Eight pillow types are normally available, although popular choices may run out. You can also select up to five organic amenity items per night.
Some room plans are non-smoking, while smoking rooms are also available. Choose your preferred room type when booking. Preschool children can share an existing bed free of charge, but you still need to include them in the room occupancy.
Dining
Your stay includes a complimentary breakfast buffet with Japanese and Western dishes. The daily selection includes freshly baked breads, salad made with seasonal organic vegetables, and dishes inspired by Aichi. The buffet changes from day to day, giving you a different start when you stay for more than one night.
Breakfast is served from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays and public holidays, it remains open until 9:00 a.m.
Super Hotel Okazaki does not serve dinner, but you can find restaurants around Higashi-Okazaki Station and throughout the city centre. The hotel also provides information about partner restaurants nearby.
The complimentary Welcome Bar opens in the lounge each afternoon and evening. Soft drinks are available from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., while alcoholic drinks are served from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. You can prepare your own drink from the available spirits, wine, mixers, and soft drinks. Service times may change.
Onsen and Wellness
The natural hot spring, Aoi no Yu, uses water from Ikeda Sakura Onsen. The sodium bicarbonate water is alkaline, hypotonic, and naturally low in temperature. Its smooth feel makes it particularly pleasant after a long journey or a full day of walking. The listed qualities include support for tired muscles, joint discomfort, neuralgia, and skin care.
Aoi no Yu has one shared bathing area, so men and women use it at separate times. On weekdays, women can bathe from 3:00 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. and again from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Men can enter from 8:00 p.m. until 6:50 a.m.
On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, men can bathe from 3:00 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. and from 10:00 p.m. until 6:50 a.m. Women can enter from 7:00 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. and again from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Shampoo and body soap are provided in the bathing area. Because there is no private hot spring bath, you need to follow the timetable for your bathing period. Every room also has its own unit bath.
Guests with Tattoos
You cannot use Aoi no Yu if you have tattoos, temporary tattoos, or body paint. You can use the private unit bath in your room instead.
Facilities
You have access to free Wi-Fi, a breakfast and Welcome Bar lounge, a natural hot spring bath, vending facilities, and a 24-hour coin laundry with washing machines and dryers. Laundry detergent is provided without an extra charge. Trouser presses are placed beside the elevator on each floor, while reading lamps and other limited rental items are available.
Outdoor parking is allocated in order of arrival. The spaces accommodate vehicles up to approximately five metres long and two metres wide. When the hotel parking area is full, you need to use a nearby public car park that is not affiliated with the hotel.
Activities
You can visit Okazaki Castle in Okazaki Park and learn more about the city’s connection with Tokugawa Ieyasu. The restored castle tower includes an observation level with views across the surrounding area, while the park contains statues, historic displays, gardens, and other points connected with local history.
For another side of Okazaki, explore Hatcho Kura-dori, the traditional miso-storehouse district. Hatcho miso takes its name from the area’s historic distance of eight cho, around 870 metres, from Okazaki Castle. You can see old storehouses, large wooden fermentation barrels, and exhibits explaining how this deeply flavoured local miso is made.
Higashi-Okazaki Station also makes it easy to continue towards central Nagoya or other destinations across Aichi Prefecture.
