Overview
Yutorelo Karuizawa Hotel gives you a relaxed highland stay in Karuizawa, with natural scenery, French-style dining, a shared hot spring bath, and a calm lounge space with a fireplace. The hotel sits in the Nagakura area, close enough for sightseeing around Naka-Karuizawa, Harunire Terrace, Kumoba Pond, Shiraito Falls, Karuizawa Taliesin, and Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza.
This is a good choice when you want a softer Karuizawa stay with more warmth than a standard business hotel. You can settle into a twin, Japanese-Western, or Japanese room, enjoy creative French cuisine with Shinshu ingredients, soak in alkaline Hataya Onsen water, and spend time in the lounge with drinks, sweets, coffee, or herbal tea.
Accommodation
Yutorelo Karuizawa Hotel offers Hollywood twin, deluxe twin, standard twin, Japanese-Western, and Japanese-style rooms. All rooms are non-smoking. The room selection works well for couples, friends, families, and small groups, with both bed-style and tatami-style layouts available.
The Hollywood Twin is a one-room-only option with two single beds placed side by side and a desk space, making it suitable for a comfortable stay for two. The Deluxe Twin is one of the largest room types, with a sofa and extra space to relax. One Deluxe Twin room allows stays with a small indoor dog, with rules and vaccination documentation required.
The Standard Twin rooms have different designs depending on the room, giving you a simple Western-style stay. The Japanese-Western rooms combine bed sleeping with Japanese-style space, making them a good choice when you want both comfort and a relaxed tatami atmosphere. The Japanese-style rooms are 15 tatami mats and suit family or group stays. These rooms do not have an in-room bath, so you use the shared large public bath.
Rooms include useful basics such as Wi-Fi, refrigerator, kettle, tea set, TV, humidifying air purifier, towels, yukata, and standard bath amenities depending on the room type. The style stays simple and comfortable, with enough room choices to match a short Karuizawa break or a longer stay.
Dining
Dining at Yutorelo Karuizawa Hotel focuses on creative French cuisine using Shinshu ingredients. From May 12, 2026, dinner is served as a course meal, with dishes brought to your table in order from appetizer to main dish and dessert. This replaced the previous demi, or half-buffet, style.
Dinner courses include Premium La Grand, the standard La Lumiere, and the lighter La Nature. A premium course may include assorted hors d’oeuvres, green and yellow vegetable potage, sole prepared Albert-style with Shinshu mushrooms, Akagi beef steak, and crème brûlée with seasonal fruit. The standard course may include hors d’oeuvres, potage, kinmedai prepared with clams and seasonal vegetables, grilled Gunma pork shoulder loin, and dessert. The light course offers a simpler dinner with hors d’oeuvres, potage, roasted duck, and crème brûlée. Menus may change with ingredient supply.
Breakfast is a Western-style morning meal prepared by the chef. You can start the day with dishes such as eggs Benedict and salad, then head out for shopping, sightseeing, or a slower Karuizawa morning.
Meals are served at Garden Restaurant Splendor, a bright dining room beside the garden. Meal times are selected through the hotel’s mobile order system, and room dining is not available.
Onsen and Wellness
Yutorelo Karuizawa Hotel uses Hataya Onsen from Gunma, a hot spring with a soft, low-irritation feel. The water is an alkaline simple hot spring with a pH of 8.7. It is clear, colorless, and has no strong scent, making it easy to enjoy even if you prefer a gentle bath.
The shared large public bath has wide windows facing the greenery, giving you a calm place to warm your body after a day outside. Bathing hours are from 15:00 to 24:00 and from 6:00 to 10:00. The water is added and heated, and it is not free-flowing. There is no day-use bathing.
The spring is associated with support for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, joint stiffness, bruises, sprains, hemorrhoids, chronic digestive concerns, cold sensitivity, recovery after illness, fatigue recovery, and general health promotion.
The hotel also has a stone sauna, which can be reserved after check-in. The shared public bath does not have a sauna.
Guests with Tattoos
Yutorelo Karuizawa Hotel has shared public hot spring baths. Tattoos may be displayed only when they can be fully covered with up to two designated tattoo-cover stickers. Tattoos that cannot be fully covered are not permitted in the shared bathing areas.
