Overview
Yutoriro Nasushiobara brings you to Shiobara Onsen, a waterfall-view hot spring area in Tochigi surrounded by valleys, clear streams, and countryside warmth. The hotel is designed for an easy stay inside the building, with two lounge spaces, local buffet dining, family-friendly rooms, shared hot spring baths, sauna, manga, table tennis, board games, and included drinks and sweets during set service times.
This is a good choice when you want a casual onsen hotel with plenty of indoor comfort. You can relax in the Takimi Lounge, spend time in the YUTORELO FARM STUDIO, soak in the hotel’s own spring water, enjoy dinner with local Tochigi flavors, and use the hotel as a base for waterfalls, temples, footbaths, farms, winter snow activities, and family sightseeing around Nasushiobara.
Accommodation
Yutoriro Nasushiobara has seven room types, with Western-style twin rooms, Japanese-style rooms, Japanese-modern twin rooms, two-room Japanese layouts, and two Kids Concept rooms. The rooms are practical and relaxed, with layouts suited to couples, friends, families, and larger groups.
The Western-style twin rooms are 27㎡ and offer a simple bed-based stay. The Japanese-style rooms are 39.1㎡ and give you tatami space for a more traditional onsen hotel stay. The Japanese-modern comfort twin rooms place low beds in a 10-tatami room, making them useful when you want bed-style sleeping with a softer Japanese feel.
The two-room Japanese rooms and Japanese-modern premium twin rooms are 55㎡ and fit up to eight people, giving you more space for family or group travel. The Kids Concept Mountain room is an 81㎡ Japanese-Western room with toys, corner guards, and playful mountain-themed details. The Kids Concept River room is the largest room at 117㎡, with toys, corner guards, a drawing wall, and a river-themed design. In the River room, futon bedding is self-service.
Rooms include the main essentials such as TV, safe, refrigerator, bath or unit bath depending on room type, toilet, towels, and basic amenities. Room baths are not hot spring baths, so the main onsen experience takes place in the shared public bath area.
Dining
Dining is served at Restaurant Satoya, a relaxed countryside-style restaurant with buffet meals for dinner and breakfast. Dinner has a 90-minute seating time and includes 70 minutes of drinks. The buffet uses local ingredients and seasonal dishes, with a live kitchen where freshly fried tempura is prepared in front of you.
Dinner may include fresh vegetables, local Tochigi flavors, soft drinks, desserts, and warm buffet dishes. Selected plans include one extra dish for adults, with choices such as a seasonal special dish, Tochigi Premium Yashio trout, or Nogahara Highland beef sukiyaki hot pot. The restaurant also has a children’s buffet counter, making meals easier when you stay with children.
Breakfast is a Japanese-style buffet based on the idea of “mago wa yasashii,” a balanced meal concept using beans, sesame, seaweed, vegetables, fish, mushrooms, and potatoes. Some Western-style items are also available, so you can start the day with rice, bread, grilled fish, eggs, vegetables, and lighter sides before sightseeing or travel.
Meal times are selected through the hotel’s mobile order system, and meals are fully reservation-based. Room dining is not available, though some plans may offer private dining for dinner.
Onsen and Wellness
Yutoriro Nasushiobara uses its own hot spring source in the shared public bath area. Shiobara Onsen is known for more than 150 sources and has long attracted writers, artists, and hot spring lovers. The hotel’s water has a soft feel and is used in the large public bath and open-air rock bath.
The large public bath includes a sauna and cold bath, giving you a fuller bathing routine after travel, sightseeing, or winter activities. The open-air bath lets you soak with the sound of the clear stream and the natural valley setting nearby. Bathing hours are from 15:00 to 24:00 and from 6:00 to 9:00.
The spring quality is a simple hot spring, classified as hypotonic, neutral, and high-temperature. The pH is 7, and the source temperature is 42°C. The water is associated with support for autonomic nervous system imbalance, neuralgia, frozen shoulder, sleep concerns, mild depression, fatigue recovery, and general health promotion.
Guests with Tattoos
Yutoriro Nasushiobara has shared public hot spring baths. Tattoos are permitted only when they can be fully covered with up to two designated tattoo-cover stickers. Tattoos that cannot be fully covered are not permitted in the shared bathing areas.
