Overview

Stay directly beside one of Gunma’s main transport hubs at APA Hotel Takasaki Ekimae. The hotel connects to the west exit of JR Takasaki Station by pedestrian deck, placing you around one minute from the trains. This convenient setting works well for business trips, overnight stops, concerts, and sightseeing across Gunma.

After arriving, you can settle into your room, enjoy a Japanese and Western breakfast, or stretch out in the natural hot spring bath. An indoor bath, open-air bath, and sauna give you a welcome way to unwind without leaving the hotel.

The room equipment received an update in February 2026, adding features that make it easier to work, watch your own content, and rest between journeys.

Accommodation

Choose from Single, Small Double, Double, and Twin Rooms. The Single and Small Double Rooms measure approximately 10 square metres and include a 120-centimetre-wide bed. The Double Room offers the same compact layout with a wider 140-centimetre bed, while the 14-square-metre Twin Room includes two separate 120-centimetre beds.

Each room makes careful use of the available space, placing the bed, desk, television, storage, and private bathroom within easy reach. A ceiling light provides clear illumination when you need to work or read, while thermal blackout curtains help block early morning light and reduce changes in room temperature.

You can connect to Wi-Fi 6 and watch films, television programmes, and anime through the complimentary video-on-demand service. Screen mirroring and casting functions also let you display compatible content from your own device on the room television.

Two different APA pillows allow you to choose the height and texture that feel most comfortable. Your room also includes a duvet, individually controlled air conditioning with nanoe X technology, a refrigerator, electric kettle, tea set, hairdryer, bidet toilet, slippers, and yukata.

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face and hand soap, towels, a toothbrush, razor, hairbrush, shower cap, cotton products, and a body towel are ready for your stay. Humidifiers and air purifiers are available to borrow. Smoking and non-smoking room categories are available, so select your preferred option when booking.

Dining

Start your morning at Hiroshin Beikoku with a Japanese and Western buffet featuring more than 30 dishes. Breakfast runs from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, with final entry at 8:30 AM.

Freshly prepared tofu is one of the main highlights. It uses carefully selected Japanese soybeans and natural nigari, giving it a warm texture and rich flavour. You can also try homemade yuba, chilled black sesame tofu, grilled fish, egg dishes, Japanese side dishes, salads, and familiar Western breakfast choices.

Local flavours include sashimi konnyaku and simmered konnyaku dishes. Carefully selected Japanese rice is cooked in a traditional hagama pot, giving you a satisfying start before work, sightseeing, or an onward train journey.

The restaurant also opens for dinner from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM, with final orders at 9:30 PM. You cannot enter the restaurant in a yukata or hotel slippers.

Onsen and Wellness

Natural Hot Spring Genyo no Yu gives you space to warm your body and release the tiredness of travel. The shared bathing facilities include an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna, allowing you to move between warm water, fresh air, and dry heat.

The natural spring water undergoes added water, heating, circulation, and filtration before entering the baths. Its recognised bathing benefits include recovery from fatigue and support for general wellbeing.

You can use the bathing facilities from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM and again from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. These long hours let you soak after a late arrival or begin your morning with a quiet bath before breakfast.

The sauna sits inside the public bathing area and carries the gentle scent of wood. Ultra-fine bubble shower heads are also available, and a water dispenser in the changing area provides hot and cold drinking water after your bath or sauna session.

There is no private hot spring bath.

Guests with Tattoos

You can use the shared indoor bath, open-air bath, and sauna only when your tattoos can be completely covered with the designated tattoo seals. You cannot use the communal bathing facilities when the seals do not fully cover your tattoos.

Facilities

You can complete your arrival through automatic check-in machines, including an app-based one-second check-in machine. When you have no remaining charges, the Express Check-Out Post lets you return your room key without waiting at the front desk.

Free Wi-Fi 6 covers the hotel, while APA Digital Information displays bathing hours, hotel guidance, local details, and emergency information on your room television. Coin-operated laundry machines support longer stays, and a shared microwave makes it easy to warm food. Vending machines provide drinks and other refreshments, including ice cream made in Takasaki.

The hotel also provides a restaurant, natural hot spring baths, a sauna, hot and cold drinking water, laundry services, in-room massage by advance arrangement, wheelchair loans, trouser presses, blankets, and children’s amenity sets. A limited coin-operated car park is available on a first-come basis without reservations.

Activities

Use Takasaki Station as your starting point for exploring the city and the wider Gunma region. Takasaki Arena is within walking distance, making the hotel convenient when you are attending a concert, sports event, or exhibition.

Discover Takasaki’s connection with daruma dolls at Shorinzan Daruma-ji Temple, where you can see daruma from across Japan. You can also visit Byakue Dai-Kannon, a towering white statue overlooking the city, and climb through its interior for elevated views.

For a longer outing, travel toward Haruna Shrine and Lake Haruna for mountain scenery, walking routes, and seasonal landscapes. Takasaki also provides useful transport connections for day trips to Ikaho Onsen, Tomioka, and other parts of Gunma.

Around the station, you can browse shops, find regional souvenirs, and choose from cafés and restaurants before returning to the hotel for another hot spring soak.

Additional Features

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. You can store suitable luggage before checking in, although valuables, fragile items, and anything requiring refrigeration cannot be accepted.

Room linen follows an eco-cleaning schedule and is normally changed once every three days during consecutive stays. You can arrange daily cleaning in advance when needed.

The combination of direct station access, updated room equipment, natural hot spring bathing, a sauna, local breakfast dishes, and simple check-in technology gives you an easy base for both short visits and longer journeys through Gunma.
