Overview

Hotel Green Plaza Hamanako is a lakeside resort hotel facing Lake Hamana in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. You stay with calm water views from your room, a lake-view restaurant, and a public bath area where the open-air baths look out over the lake. The hotel works well when you want easy buffet dining, scenic bathing, and a casual base for Hamamatsu and Lake Hamana sightseeing.

The hotel is about 7 minutes on foot from Hamanako-Sakume Station, and pickup is available from the station after 14:30 when you call after arrival. By car, Mikkabi IC is about 7 minutes away.

Accommodation

You stay in Japanese-Western rooms with beds and tatami space. The standard Japanese-Western room has two beds, a 6-tatami area, and futon bedding, giving you a comfortable layout for couples, families, or small groups. Large windows face Lake Hamana, so you can enjoy the water and morning light from your room.

For a wider view, choose a lake-side corner Japanese-Western room. This room has two large windows and looks across Lake Hamana from two directions. The mountain-side corner room also has two large windows, with views toward both the lake side and mountain side. These corner rooms add a brighter, more open feeling while keeping the same bed-and-tatami layout.

All listed room types are non-smoking and include Wi-Fi. Room items include TV, empty refrigerator, electric kettle, hair dryer, and humidifier. Corner rooms also include an air purifier. Amenities include bath towels, face towels, rinse-in shampoo, body shampoo, shower cap, toothbrush, hair tie, razor, and yukata.

Dining

Dinner is a Japanese, Western, and Chinese buffet with about 50 items. You can enjoy all-you-can-eat grilled eel, eel dishes that change with the season and supply, charcoal-grilled meat from the open kitchen, seasonal tempura, beef sukiyaki, Hamamatsu gyoza, Shizuoka-style side dishes, sashimi, pasta with clams, roast dishes, handmade sweets, cakes, jellies, and desserts.

The restaurant faces Lake Hamana, so your meal stays connected to the view. Dinner is served in the evening, and the dining room has 100 seats. Drinks can be added, including local Mikkabi mandarin-style sour drinks and a semi-self-service drink style. Celebration cakes can also be arranged in advance.

Breakfast is also buffet style, with both Japanese and Western dishes. Local highlights include boiled whitebait from Maisaka Port, simmered clams, Lake Hamana nori tsukudani, Japanese simmered dishes, grilled fish, bread, desserts, and salad with Mikkabi mandarin dressing.

Onsen and Wellness

The large public bath is Shokei no Yu, a lake-view bathing area where you can soak while looking toward Lake Hamana. The indoor bath uses heated water, while the open-air bath and open-air pot bath use transported hot spring water from Yuya Onsen No. 7 source. The open-air baths use circulation, with heating and added water for temperature control.

The spring quality for the open-air bath and pot bath is sodium-calcium chloride spring water, classified as hypotonic and neutral. Listed indications include chronic muscle and joint pain, stiffness, lower back pain, neuralgia, frozen shoulder, bruises, sprains, sensitivity to cold, poor peripheral circulation, reduced digestive function, recovery after illness, fatigue recovery, and health promotion.

Bath amenities include body soap, shampoo, rinse, hair dryer, cotton swabs, brush, and grooming or skincare items. The women’s bath also has lotion, milky lotion, shower caps, and a shampoo bar with five shampoo choices. A baby bed is available in the women’s bath.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, including fashion tattoos, you cannot use the public bath.
