Overview

Kishotei welcomes you to Hirado, where the sea stretches wide before you and the town’s exotic charm flows through every street. Since opening in 1969, the hotel has hosted emperors, royalty, and travelers seeking comfort and warmth. The hospitality here blends traditional care with quiet attention. Take a break from your routine, breathe in the ocean air, and let yourself relax completely.

Accommodation

Kishotei offers a wide range of Japanese and Japanese-Western rooms, many with views of the sea and some with private open-air baths. When you arrive, enjoy a cup of tea and a seasonal sweet prepared especially for that month. Yukata robes and all the essentials are ready in your room, so you can begin your stay in comfort.

Yawaragiso: This building features rooms with open-air baths, Japanese-style spaces, and a barrier-free suite with a rock bath. Choose a room that suits your needs, whether you’re traveling alone or with family.

Issaian: A large suite on the top floor with ocean views, blending Japanese and Western styles. It’s perfect for families or groups looking for more space.

Funadomari & Irifune: These rooms combine Western twin beds with Japanese-style sitting areas. Floor-to-ceiling windows let you take in the horizon.

Uminari & Isaribi: High-floor rooms with similar layouts and stunning views of the sea.

Main Building: Includes spacious Japanese-style rooms, VIP rooms, and Western-style twin rooms. Many of these rooms offer full ocean views.

Romantei: This section includes large traditional rooms, condominiums, and even a coworking space, all designed for peaceful stays near the water.

All rooms are non-smoking and come with air conditioning, a refrigerator, a TV, a safe, free Wi-Fi, and a complete set of amenities including yukata, towels, and toiletries.

Dining

At Kishotei, every meal reflects the natural richness of Hirado. The chefs use fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables to create vibrant dishes full of flavor and care.

Dinner: Served in BIWAN, Kishotei’s main dining space. The menu changes each month, showcasing ingredients at their peak. You can dine in private tatami rooms or choose table seating for a more casual setting.

Breakfast: Start your day with a Japanese-Western buffet. The kitchen prepares dishes by hand using local produce whenever possible. On some days, you’ll receive a carefully prepared set menu instead.

Memorial Meals & Business Dinners: If you’re visiting for a special occasion or business, Kishotei can prepare custom meals with traditional flavors.

Children’s Meals: If you’re traveling with kids, Kishotei offers tailored children’s menus. Let the front desk know your preferences at check-in.

Onsen and Wellness

The hot springs at Kishotei come from a natural source rich in minerals and history. Known as “Kishotei no Yu,” this water has flowed underground for over 20,000 years. Its mild alkalinity leaves your skin smooth and your body deeply relaxed.

Public Baths: Relax in spacious baths with views of Hirado Castle and the sea. Men’s and women’s areas are available.

Open-Air Baths: Soak in fresh air and warm water at the rooftop baths. Whether you choose “Wakou no Yu,” “Jagatara no Yu,” or “BIWAN no Yu,” you can unwind with the scent of the ocean breeze.

Private Baths: Select rooms include personal open-air baths where you can enjoy quiet moments with loved ones.

Sauna: You’ll also find saunas in the ROMANTEI wing to help you fully unwind after your soak.

Hot spring facilities are open in the evening and again early in the morning. The water quality supports skin care, recovery from fatigue, and relief from muscle and joint discomfort.

Guests with Tattoos

The onsen at Kishotei welcomes all visitors. You can enjoy the public and open-air baths without concern, though it’s always helpful to check with the front desk if you have specific needs.
