Overview

Irago Resort & Convention Hotel is an ocean-view resort hotel on the Atsumi Peninsula in Aichi. You stay beside Irago Beach, also known as Coconuts Beach Irago, with views across the sea and easy access to Irago Port, Koijigahama Beach, and Irago Cape Lighthouse. The former Irago Sea-Park & Spa reopened as Irago Resort & Convention Hotel in 2023.

You come here for sea views, buffet dining, a natural hot spring bath, a summer outdoor pool, and a relaxed coastal base for Tahara and Irago sightseeing. All room types face the ocean, so the beach and water stay close throughout your stay.

Accommodation

You can choose from four main room types: Ocean Suite, Japanese room with living area, Superior Room, and dog-friendly twin rooms in the Plaza Building. Every room type is ocean view, and all rooms are non-smoking.

The Ocean Suite gives you 66㎡ of space, wide sea views, and a resort-style layout suited to families or small groups. The Japanese room with living area has a 12.5-tatami Japanese room connected to a bright living space, so you can stretch out on tatami while still having a separate place to sit and relax.

The Superior Room is a 33㎡ Western-style room with a balcony facing the marine-blue water. Beds are semi-double size with duvet-style bedding, making this the simplest choice when you want an ocean-view room with Western beds.

The Plaza Building dog-friendly twin rooms are on the first floor and also face the ocean. These rooms welcome small and medium dogs, with dog items such as a cage, pet sheets, wet wipes, food bowl, etiquette bags, and insect repellent spray. Your dog cannot use the room bath, beds, or futons.

Room amenities include yukata, toothbrush, shampoo, body soap, and rinse in the room. Other amenities are available from the amenity corner beside the front desk. Wi-Fi connects automatically, though it may slow down when many people use it at the same time.

Dining

Dinner focuses on the food of the Atsumi Peninsula, with seafood from Mikawa Bay, Atsumi vegetables, local rice from Aichi, and water from Irago. The current dining style includes generous buffet meals and seasonal kaiseki-style plans depending on your booking.

The buffet highlights seafood, Atsumi vegetables, steak from the live kitchen, tempura, and family-friendly dishes. The Irago Bold Kitchen buffet is one of the key dining spaces, with an ocean-view setting and a kids’ corner.

Seasonal kaiseki plans may include dishes such as sashimi, kinmedai, shellfish grilled at your table, abalone steak, Ise lobster, Mikawa octopus, fugu dishes in colder months, Atsumi cabbage kamameshi, aonori or iwanori soup, and Atsumi melon depending on the season and plan. Menus can change with ingredient supply.

Breakfast is served as a Japanese and Western buffet. You can enjoy a relaxed morning meal before heading to the beach, lighthouse, ferry port, or local sightseeing spots.

Onsen and Wellness

The natural hot spring bath is Umi no Hana, a large ocean-view public bath using Irago Onsen water. You can soak while looking toward Mikawa Bay, nearby islands, passing boats, and sunset when the weather and timing are right.

The spring quality is sodium-calcium chloride spring water, classified as hypotonic, weakly alkaline, and low-temperature. The water is heated and diluted for temperature control, and it uses circulation filtration for hygiene management. Listed benefits include joint pain, muscle pain, and neuralgia.

The bath area has a large indoor bath and sauna. There is no open-air bath and no reservable private bath listed for this property. In-room baths are not hot spring baths, so the main onsen experience is the shared public bath.

Guests with Tattoos

If you have tattoos, you may not be able to use the public bathing facilities.

Facilities

Irago Resort & Convention Hotel gives you resort-style spaces for both beach time and indoor downtime. You can use the ocean-view hot spring bath, sauna, restaurant areas, coffee shop or café space, library, gift shop, karaoke rooms, and meeting or convention spaces. The property has 122 rooms arranged over 11 floors, with daily housekeeping, elevator access, and front desk support.

In summer, the outdoor pool adds an easy family option beside the sea. The pool has a main pool and a shallow children’s area, and the beach sits right in front of the hotel. Indoors, you can use the second-floor kids’ room, the first-floor table tennis area, and the indoor dog run for rainy days when you stay with your dog.

You also have Wi-Fi, parking, wheelchair rental, a barrier-free toilet, and a free shuttle between JR Toyohashi Station west exit and the hotel with advance reservation. The building is not fully barrier-free, and some areas have steps, so you should check details in advance if you need easier access.

Activities

You can walk straight to Irago Beach / Coconuts Beach Irago for swimming and beach time in season. Koijigahama Beach is within a short drive and can also be reached on foot if you enjoy coastal walking. Along the way, you can enjoy views of Mikawa Bay, the islands, and the lighthouse area.

Irago Cape Lighthouse is one of the area’s classic sights. From the lighthouse area, you can look across the Pacific, Ise Bay, and Mikawa Bay, and the walking path gives you one of the best ways to enjoy the coast. Koijigahama Beach and the lighthouse area are also known for sunset views.

You can also plan seasonal trips around the Atsumi Peninsula, including flower fields, strawberry picking, melon picking, and local food stops. Irago Port makes ferry travel toward the Ise-Shima side possible, so the hotel can also work as a stop before or after a wider coastal journey.
