Overview
Wanwan Paradise Hamanako, formerly Hamanako Wanwan Paradise Hotel, is a lakeside dog resort where you can enjoy Lake Hamana views, hot spring bathing, and time with your dog throughout the stay. The setting gives you open water, sunset colours, and a relaxed resort mood made for slow walks, shared meals, and easy days by the lake.
This is a strong choice when you want your dog to be part of the whole trip. You can stay together in the room, dine together in the restaurant, play in outdoor and indoor dog spaces, and enjoy a location close to Lake Hamana sightseeing.
Accommodation
You can choose from lake-view Japanese rooms, Japanese modern twin rooms, deluxe Japanese-Western rooms, and panorama corner rooms. The upper-floor lake-view Japanese modern twin gives you 42.1㎡ of space with two beds and a bath, while the lake-view deluxe Japanese-Western room gives you 57.25–59.68㎡, making it a good choice for families or group stays. The lake-view panorama corner triple sits in a corner of the building, with windows that open the room toward the lake.
Your room gives you space to relax with your dog rather than simply sleep. You can choose a tatami-style room for a more Japanese feel, a bed-style room for easy rest, or a larger Japanese-Western room when you want both. Dog-friendly items such as food bowls, toilet sheets, cages, towels, and deodorizer are prepared, so you can travel with less stress.
Dogs of all sizes can stay, from small dogs to extra-large dogs, and there is no set limit on the number of dogs. Your dog needs basic training, current rabies vaccination, and either a valid infectious disease vaccination or antibody test. Dogs in heat and puppies under four months cannot stay.
Dining
You can enjoy Japanese kaiseki cuisine at the restaurant “Himawari,” where you can dine with your dog. The meals focus on the flavours of Enshu and Lake Hamana, giving you a dining experience that feels connected to the local area.
Dinner choices include the standard Hamakaze Kaiseki and the special Shiranami Kaiseki. The Shiranami course includes dishes such as horse sashimi, sashimi, eel kabayaki, and domestic Kuroge Wagyu shabu-shabu. The Hamakaze course includes seasonal dishes, chawanmushi, sashimi, grilled fish, Mikkabi Sangen pork teppanyaki, eel rice, and dessert.
Your dog can enjoy dinner too. Dog menu options include Shizuoka beef thigh, wan-burg, venison, boiled chicken tender, and a sweet potato and soy milk shortcake. Same-day orders are accepted, making it easy to add a special meal for your dog during the stay.
Onsen and Wellness
You can soak in Kanzanji Onsen while looking out toward Lake Hamana. The bath areas include one indoor bath and one open-air bath, with bathing hours from 6:00 to 10:00 and 15:00 to 24:00. The women’s bath is called Daidara no Yu, and the men’s bath is called Bochi no Yu.
The hot spring water is a sodium-potassium chloride cold mineral spring. After time on the road, around the lake, or in the dog park, the baths give you a warm and quiet place to reset.
For safety and hygiene, children who still use diapers cannot use the large public bath. Baby baths may be available from the front desk, depending on availability.
Guests with tattoos
Guests with tattoos cannot use the public baths.
Facilities
The hotel provides facilities designed to support both comfort and enjoyment. A well-stocked shop offers local Shizuoka specialties along with treats and goods for your dog. You can send purchases directly home, allowing you to travel light.
Common spaces encourage you to relax without pressure. Whether you spend time by the lake, browse the shop, or rest in your room, the layout supports an unhurried stay.
Activities
Your dog can enjoy two outdoor dog parks and an indoor play space, so playtime does not depend entirely on the weather. The blue artificial turf at DOG PARK creates a fun lakeside feeling, while the courtyard dog park gives you another easy place to stretch, play, and socialize.
You can also explore nearby Lake Hamana attractions. Kanzanji Ropeway is about 1.1 km away, Nukumori no Mori is about 4.1 km away, Hamana Lake Garden Park is about 8.4 km away, and Hamamatsu Festival Hall is about 22.5 km away.
Your stay can be active or quiet. Spend the morning walking by the lake, let your dog run in the park, enjoy a Japanese meal together, then end the day with a hot spring bath and sunset views over the water.
Additional features
Check-in allows you to settle in smoothly, and check-out gives you time to enjoy a final morning by the lake. The hotel sits in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, with convenient access by car and clear guidance for arrival.
Lake Hamana Wanwan Paradise Hotel gives you something rare: a place where your dog stays by your side at every stage of the journey. You share views, meals, walks, and rest without separation. As the sun sets over the lake and your dog rests nearby, you realize this stay is not about doing more—it is about enjoying what is already here, together.
