Overview

Myogi Green Hotel & Terrace gives you a mountain-view stay at the foot of Mount Myogi in Tomioka, Gunma. From the hotel, you can look toward one of Japan’s most striking rocky landscapes, known for sharp ridgelines, seasonal color, and a dramatic shape that changes with the light.

This is a good choice when you want hot springs, golf, sightseeing, and relaxed resort time in one place. You can soak in Myogi Onsen, enjoy shabu-shabu buffet dining on the top floor, play at the adjacent Myogi Country Club, or choose the Terrace Side for a glamping stay surrounded by open nature.

Accommodation

Myogi Green Hotel has 97 rooms, with single, double, twin, Japanese-style, Japanese-Western, and barrier-free room options. Some rooms face Mount Myogi, while others look toward the golf course or the surrounding landscape, so you should choose your room type based on the view and space you want.

The single rooms work well when you travel alone for golf, business, or a quiet solo trip. The double rooms measure 25 square meters and include a 160 cm bed, giving you a simple and comfortable stay for two. The twin rooms range from about 25 to 33 square meters, with some rooms offering a wide view of Mount Myogi. If you use a twin room for three people, one bed is usually added as an extra bed.

The Japanese rooms give you a more traditional stay with tatami flooring. The 8-tatami Japanese rooms look toward Mount Myogi, while the 10-tatami rooms look mainly toward the golf course. The 12-tatami Japanese rooms are set on the 3rd floor and are suited to family or group stays, with Mount Myogi visible from the front of the room. The larger 20-tatami Japanese room is designed for groups and faces Mount Myogi, but it does not have an in-room bath, so you use the natural hot spring bath instead.

The Japanese-Western room gives you a bedroom connected to a tatami room and can be used by larger groups. The non-smoking barrier-free Japanese-Western room has twin beds, a 6-tatami Japanese room, gentle ramps, a larger bathroom and toilet, and a view of Mount Myogi from the room bath. This is the best choice when easier movement is important.

Rooms include yukata, haori jacket, towels, bath towels, hand towel, tea set, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, slippers, hair dryer, toothbrush, razor, comb, shower cap, cotton swabs, hand soap, washlet toilet, empty refrigerator, TV, and free Wi-Fi. Futons are prepared in advance when you stay in a Japanese-style room.

On the Terrace Side, you can choose a glamping stay instead of a hotel room. The accommodation types include Airstream, Standard Tent, Luxury Tent, and Pet Tent. The Airstream rooms are suited to two people and offer a compact, playful stay with a private outdoor feel. The Standard and Luxury Tents sleep up to four people, with the Luxury Tent giving you a view of Mount Myogi from inside. The Pet Tent is the only glamping option where you can stay with your dog, with up to two indoor dogs of up to 12 kg allowed.

Dining

Dining at the hotel centers on Sky Restaurant Hikousen on the 11th floor. From here, you can enjoy breakfast or dinner with views toward Mount Myogi, giving your meal a sense of place before or after a day outdoors.

Dinner is a shabu-shabu buffet. You choose ingredients such as beef, pork, meatballs, and vegetables, then cook them at the table in your own pot. The buffet also includes local Gunma flavors, seasonal obanzai-style side dishes, curry, rice dishes, and other comforting items. Some plans include 90 minutes of free-flow drinks with dinner.

Breakfast is also served buffet-style and starts from 6:30, which works well when you want an early start for golf or sightseeing. The breakfast venue may change depending on the day.

If you stay on the Terrace Side, dinner is a BBQ-style outdoor meal using local ingredients and Weber grills. Ingredients are prepared for you, so you can enjoy the feeling of camping without handling all the setup. The reception and bar space also offers soft drinks and alcoholic drinks from 15:00 to 21:00. Breakfast on the Terrace Side is served from 6:30 to 9:00, and hotel buffet dining may be arranged for some Terrace Side stays when requested in advance or when weather conditions require it.

Onsen and Wellness

Myogi Onsen is one of the hotel’s highlights. The hot spring water rises from about 2,000 meters underground and is known as a “beauty spring” because of its thick, smooth feel on the skin. The water contains elements from an ancient sea and has a distinctive silky texture that makes the bath feel different from many lighter hot springs.

The large public bath, Chouju no Yu, has indoor and open-air bathing. From the open-air bath, you can look toward Mount Myogi while you soak, making the bath especially memorable after a mountain walk, golf round, or long drive. The spring quality is bicarbonate spring water, with listed benefits including relief for nerve pain, muscle pain, sensitivity to cold, fatigue recovery, arteriosclerosis, and chronic women’s health concerns.

Hotel-side bath hours for overnight stays are 5:00 to 9:00 and 12:00 to 23:30. Day-use hot spring bathing is available from 12:00 to 21:00, with final reception at 20:00, though hours may be shortened during busy periods or holidays. If you stay on the Terrace Side, you can use the same hotel hot spring, and a shuttle to the bath area is available from 19:30 to 21:30.

Guests with Tattoos

Myogi Green Hotel & Terrace does not allow tattoos in the hot spring baths. There are no private hot spring baths, so you cannot use the onsen if you have tattoos.

Facilities

Myogi Green Hotel & Terrace gives you the core facilities you need for a mountain resort stay without feeling overly busy. You can enjoy the natural hot spring, the open-air bath, Sky Restaurant Hikousen, a shop for souvenirs and local items, and karaoke rooms for an easy evening indoors. The shop is open from 8:30 to 21:00, and the karaoke rooms include a standard room for smaller groups and a larger room for group use.

The hotel is directly connected with Myogi Country Club, so golf fits naturally into the stay. You can book plans that combine accommodation, meals, and self-play golf, making it easy to move from your room to the course. On the Terrace Side, you can relax in the reception and bar space, use shower rooms, and enjoy a glamping layout built around open air, BBQ, and views of Mount Myogi.

Free parking is available, and Wi-Fi is available in hotel rooms. The hotel also has day-use plans that combine room use, hot spring bathing, and towel rental, when available. Open flame, including candles, cannot be used in rooms, so celebration cakes should be enjoyed without lighting candles inside.

Activities

Myogi Green Hotel & Terrace puts you close to nature, culture, and golf. Mount Myogi is the main landmark, known for its rocky formations, hiking routes, and autumn foliage. You can choose gentler routes around the area or more advanced trails if you have the right experience and preparation.

Myogi Shrine is another key nearby stop. It sits at the foot of Mount Myogi and is known for its connection to mountain worship, ornate architecture, and strong atmosphere. For history, Tomioka Silk Mill is about 30 minutes away by car and offers a look at Japan’s early modern silk industry and World Heritage culture.

You can also visit Gunma Safari Park, Konnyaku Park, or the Apt Road walking trail near Usui Pass. These spots make the hotel useful for families, couples, golfers, and travelers who want a mix of scenery, local culture, and relaxed activities.

On the Terrace Side, the experience becomes more outdoor-focused. You can watch the morning light hit Mount Myogi, enjoy BBQ beside your tent, listen to the sounds of nature in the evening, and use the hotel hot spring to warm up afterward.

Additional Features

Check-in for standard hotel stays is usually from 15:00 to 21:00, and check-out is by 10:00, though some plans may differ. For Terrace Side glamping, check-in is usually from 15:00 to 18:00, and check-out is by 10:00.

A reservation-based shuttle runs between JR Matsuida Station and the hotel. Pick-up from Matsuida Station is at 15:40, and the morning return shuttle leaves the Terrace Side at 9:45 and the hotel at 9:50. By car, the hotel is about 20 minutes from Shimonita IC or about 15 minutes from Matsuida-Myogi IC. If you are arriving from the Tokyo direction, the official access guidance notes that Tomioka IC, Shimonita IC, and Matsuida-Myogi IC usually have only a small difference in travel time.
