Overview

Yatsugatake Hotel Fuuka gives you an all-inclusive highland stay in Kobuchisawa, Hokuto, at around 1,000 meters above sea level. The hotel sits on the southern side of the Yatsugatake area, where you have fresh plateau air, open skies, nearby craft spots, farms, museums, and easy access to Kobuchisawa Station.

This is a good choice when you want a relaxed resort-style stay with plenty included. You can enjoy welcome drinks, oven-baked pizza, casual French dining, drinks with dinner, night bar time, the star-view terrace, hot spring bathing, a dry sauna, a kids’ room, a library, and selected rooms with private baths. The hotel is family-friendly, but it also works well for couples, friends, and quiet highland breaks.

Accommodation

Yatsugatake Hotel Fuuka offers several room styles, including suites with private hot spring baths, rooms with private non-hot-spring baths, Japanese-Western rooms, family rooms, Western double rooms, and Japanese-style rooms. The room selection is broad, so you can choose a simple stay using the shared bath or a larger room with more privacy.

The FUUKA Luxury Suite has a semi-open-air rock hot spring bath, a private terrace, a large-screen theater setup, and a spacious 90㎡ layout. The FUUKA Suite has a private hinoki hot spring bath and a 100㎡ layout, making it one of the strongest choices when you want private bathing and more room for a family or group. The Star-View Jacuzzi FUUKA Suite has a large layout and a jacuzzi bath, but that room bath is not hot spring water.

The Beauty FUUKA Junior Suite has a private bath and beauty-focused items, while the Superior Japanese-Western Room has a large screen and space for up to six people. The Deluxe Family Room, Toddler Family Room, and Heartful Family Room are useful when you travel with children or want more space. The Standard Japanese-Western Room, Western Double Room, and Japanese Room keep the stay simpler and suit you well when you plan to spend more time in the lounge, restaurant, and shared bath areas.

All rooms are non-smoking. Rooms include useful basics such as Wi-Fi, internet TV, refrigerator, kettle, tea set, washlet toilet, hair dryer, air conditioning, humidifying air purifier, towels, yukata, slippers, and bath items depending on the room type. Futon bedding is self-service.

Dining

Dining is served at Restaurant Aburi. Dinner is casual French, designed so you can enjoy a course-style meal without a stiff atmosphere. The main meat dish is the Yatsugatake Grill, prepared in the live kitchen, and the meal pairs with around 50 drinks served as part of the all-inclusive dinner service.

The dinner style uses chopsticks and keeps the mood relaxed, so it works well for families, couples, and group stays. Menus change with the season and plan, but the focus stays on highland flavors, grilled dishes, and easy pairing with wine, beer, soft drinks, and other beverages.

Breakfast is a Western-style Yatsugatake highland breakfast. It gives you a bright start before craft workshops, farm visits, sightseeing, skiing, or a slow morning around the hotel.

After dinner, the night bar opens for a short evening service. Drinks are included for most options, while selected premium labels are separate. You can enjoy your drink inside or take it toward the star-view terrace when the setting allows.

Onsen and Wellness

The shared bath area has an open-air hot spring bath, a large indoor bath, a dry sauna, and a post-bath rest area. The open-air bath uses Serigasawa Onsen, brought from Kitayama in Chino, Nagano. This alkaline simple hot spring is gentle on the skin and is associated with support for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, stiff joints, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive concerns, hemorrhoids, cold sensitivity, recovery after illness, fatigue recovery, and general health promotion.

The indoor bath is the Reisu Binchotan bath, which uses binchotan charcoal. The washing area has tatami-style flooring, making it softer underfoot and less slippery than standard tile. This is especially helpful for children and older bathers.

Bathing hours are from 15:00 to 24:00 and from 6:00 to 10:00. The dry sauna was renewed in 2022. After bathing, you can use the post-bath area with ice pops and massage chairs.

Selected suites also have private in-room hot spring baths. These room baths use sodium chloride, bicarbonate, and sulfate spring water. They are best when you want to bathe privately without using the shared bath area.

Guests with Tattoos

Yatsugatake Hotel Fuuka has shared public baths and selected rooms with private baths. If you have tattoos, choose a private-bath room for bathing without concern. In the shared public baths, tattoos should be fully covered.

Facilities

Yatsugatake Hotel Fuuka has Restaurant Aburi, a lobby, shop, welcome service area, star-view terrace, shared bath area, open-air bath, indoor bath, dry sauna, post-bath rest area, night bar, kids’ room, game and craft corner, Forest Library, parking, Wi-Fi, and shuttle service from Kobuchisawa Station by advance reservation.

The lobby welcome service includes drinks and oven-baked pizza during check-in time. You can also choose color yukata and samue near the front desk. The shop carries local products, making it easy to pick up small Yatsugatake souvenirs before leaving.

The star-view terrace is one of the hotel’s most memorable shared spaces. During the day, it gives you fresh highland air and open views. In the evening, it becomes a place for the fire BAR atmosphere, lanterns, marshmallow roasting, and night-sky time when the weather is clear.

The kids’ room has toys, picture books, craft activities, and play equipment. The Forest Library has manga and novels, with sofa seating and terrace use when the weather is good.

Activities

Yatsugatake Hotel Fuuka gives you easy access to many Kobuchisawa and Yatsugatake activities. Roadside Station Kobuchisawa and Spatio Taiken Kobo are close by, with local food, shopping, and hands-on craft workshops such as pottery, silver accessories, flower arrangement, and painting.

You can visit Suntory Hakushu Distillery, Kiyosato Terrace, Yatsugatake Outdoor Activities, Canadian Camp Yatsugatake for horse riding, Fishing Area Yamazato, strawberry and shiitake farm experiences, Hirayama Ikuo Silk Road Museum, and the Nakamura Keith Haring Collection.

In winter, Fujimi Kogen Ski Resort is a convenient snow option for skiing, snow play, and family-friendly winter time. In warmer months, the area works well for cycling, drives, farm visits, craft workshops, museums, light hikes, and highland café stops.
