Dormy Inn PREMIUM Kyoto Ekimae is a city hot spring hotel just about 3 minutes on foot from JR Kyoto Station’s Central Exit. It gives you an easy base for Kyoto sightseeing, business travel, and short stays, with the comfort of a top-floor natural hot spring bath waiting when you return.

The hotel’s strongest points are its station-side location, the 9th-floor natural hot spring “Hanahotaru no Yu,” and breakfast with Kyoto flavors such as warm sweet-and-savory nishin cha soba, handmade Kyoto tofu, and a seafood bowl you can build with your preferred toppings.

Accommodation

You can choose from Single, Double, Queen, and Twin rooms. The rooms are designed to feel more open than a standard compact business hotel room, giving you enough space to rest, work, and reset between sightseeing plans. A Lawson convenience store sits beside the 1st-floor lobby, and you can use the dedicated passage from the hotel while wearing your roomwear and slippers.

Single Room: A 14.3㎡ room for a simple solo stay. This room works well when you want a clean, easy base near Kyoto Station with everything close at hand.

Double Room: A 14.1–15.0㎡ room with a compact, comfortable layout. It suits a short stay when you want more bed space than a single room.

Queen Room: A 16.0–16.3㎡ room with a little more space to unwind. This is a good choice when you want a more relaxed sleep setup after a long day of walking around Kyoto.

Twin Room: A 20.2–21.7㎡ room with the most space among the listed standard room types. This room works well when you want separate beds and extra room for luggage.

Room features include free internet connection, VOD for 1,000 yen per day, TV, shower booth, hair dryer, and a warm-water washing toilet. In-room items include bath towels, face towels, roomwear, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, slippers, tea, hairbrush, toothbrush, razor, and cotton swabs.

Dining

Start your morning at CAFÉ & LOUNGE OASIS Kyoto Ekimae on the 1st floor. Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 9:30, with final entry at 9:00. The breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet with Dormy Inn’s “Kobachi Yokocho,” a selection of small dishes, plus freshly prepared egg dishes and local Kyoto specialties.

The signature local dish here is warm sweet-and-savory nishin cha soba. You can also enjoy handmade Kyoto tofu made with soy milk and a seafood bowl with four topping choices. Kyoto black shichimi and Kyoto dashi soy sauce are also available, giving breakfast a clear Kyoto taste.

In the evening, you can enjoy Dormy Inn’s free Yonaki Soba service at the 1st-floor restaurant from 21:30 to 23:00. It is a light soy-sauce ramen, perfect when you want something warm before bed.

Onsen and Wellness

Hanahotaru no Yu is the hotel’s natural hot spring bath on the 9th floor. The indoor bath uses natural hot spring water brought from Kyoto Joyo Onsen. The water has a smooth, slightly thick texture, and the hotel describes it as leaving your skin feeling smooth after bathing.

The bath area includes an indoor natural hot spring bath, open-air bath, pot bath, cold-water bath, and high-temperature dry sauna with TV. The sauna has auto-loyly, with steam generated automatically every 20 minutes. After the sauna, you can cool down in the chilled water bath and rest in the outdoor bath area.

The hot spring is open from 15:00 to 10:00 the next morning. The sauna closes from 1:00 to 5:00 for safety. The spring quality is sodium bicarbonate/chloride hot spring water, and listed benefits include nerve pain, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, bruises, sprains, chronic digestive conditions, sensitivity to cold, fatigue recovery, and health promotion.

You may bring water or another hydration drink into the large bath area for health management, but food and alcohol are not allowed. Smartphones, cameras, and tablets are not allowed in the bath or changing areas.

Guests with Tattoos

Tattoos are not allowed in the large public bath at this hotel.

Facilities

Natural Hot Spring Hanahotaru no Yu: A 9th-floor gender-separated bath area with natural indoor hot spring bath, open-air bath, pot bath, cold-water bath, and high-temperature sauna.

CAFÉ & LOUNGE OASIS Kyoto Ekimae: The 1st-floor breakfast venue, also used for the free Yonaki Soba service at night.

Laundry Corner: Located on the 9th floor, with three machines each in the men’s and women’s areas. Washing machines and detergent are free, while dryers cost 100 yen per 20 minutes.

Vending Machine Corners: Available on the 2nd, 5th, and 9th floors.

Temomi Massage Space: Located on the 9th floor, open from 17:00 to 25:00, with final reception at 24:30. Payment is made at the front desk by cash or credit card.

Lawson Convenience Store Access: A Lawson is attached beside the 1st-floor lobby, with a dedicated passage for overnight stays. You can go there in roomwear and slippers.

Front Desk Services: Paid cleaning service, paid parcel shipping, fax sending and receiving, and luggage storage before check-in and after check-out on the same day.

Free Rental Items: Iron and ironing board, trouser press, feather pillow, low-resilience pillow, mobile phone charger, and desk lamp.

Free Bath-After Services: Ice cream is available on the 9th floor from 15:00 to 25:00, and a lactic-acid drink service is available on the 9th floor from 5:00 to 10:00

Activities

Use the hotel as a station-side base for Kyoto. From JR Kyoto Station’s Central Exit, the hotel is about 3 minutes on foot, so you can start the day easily by train, subway, taxi, or city bus. After sightseeing, you can return for onsen time, sauna, a light bowl of Yonaki Soba, and a quieter evening near the station.

If you arrive by car, the hotel is about 20 minutes from Kyoto Minami IC via National Route 1 toward the city. If you travel by motorcycle or bicycle, there is no dedicated motorcycle parking area, but the hotel may be able to offer part of the parking area depending on availability. A nearby bicycle parking area is also listed about 1 minute on foot from the hotel.
