Overview
Step into a world where the gentle sea breeze and the sound of waves welcome you. At Yumekaiyu Awajishima, the beach at Ohama stretches before you, offering a harmonious blend of traditional culture and natural beauty. Awajishima, said to be the home of ancient deities, surrounds you with a timeless landscape.
The sixth-floor Mori-no-SPA reflects the pine-covered coastline, while the ryokan’s dining options showcase the island’s finest flavors. Here, you can enjoy moments that linger long after your visit.
Accommodation
Choose from two distinct styles:
- Nagomi Floor – Designed for ultimate comfort, blending Japanese relaxation with Western function. Rooms feature Ryukyu tatami, spacious layouts, and fine-view hinoki baths. Suites can accommodate couples, families, or larger groups with up to seven people. Guests have exclusive access to the Nagomi Lounge, offering drinks, reading materials, and a peaceful atmosphere.
- Regular Floor – Available in Japanese, Western, and hybrid styles. These rooms provide comfort for family trips, romantic stays, or solo retreats, with options ranging from large tatami rooms to standard twin or double rooms.
Dining
Awajishima is known as Miketsukuni, the land of abundant food. Each season brings a new highlight from land and sea.
From the sea, you might savor cherry blossom-colored sea bream in spring, pike conger eel in summer, fresh catches in autumn, and rare tiger blowfish in winter. From the land, Awaji beef and the island’s famously sweet onions add rich local flavor.
- Shikisai Dining HAMABO – An open-kitchen restaurant where seasonal dishes are prepared before your eyes, engaging all five senses.
- Private Dining ISOBE-TEI – Located on the top floor, this intimate ryotei-style setting offers quiet spaces for couples, families with children, or anyone seeking a private dining experience.
- Breakfast – Served buffet-style with both Japanese and Western fare, featuring local rice, milk, and eggs.
Onsen and Wellness
The sixth floor is home to Mori-no-SPA, with two main public bathhouses:
- IZUMI – A traditional open-plan bath with reclining baths and views of Mount Mikuma through large windows.
- HIBIKI – Another inviting bath area with seasonal scenery and a warm atmosphere.
Umine-no-Mori, the hanare-style spa, brings you closer to the sea with:
- Hakusya-no-yu – An open-air bath where you can hear the waves.
- Seisyou-no-yu – A medicinal bath that changes with the seasons.
Rotating schedules allow everyone to enjoy each area. Private baths are also available for a more secluded experience.
For deep relaxation, the Ayurvedic Moana SPA offers treatments rooted in ancient Indian healing traditions, using herbs to detoxify and restore balance.
Guests with Tattoos
The baths operate on a traditional onsen system, no tattoos allowed. Private bath options are available for those who prefer a more personal setting.
