Accommodation

Towadako Lakeside Hotel offers just 20 rooms, each designed to help you unwind. Choose from traditional Japanese spaces or Western-style comfort.

15 sqm Japanese-style Room

Stay on the mountain side in a cozy 15-square-meter room. This simple space offers peace and comfort, perfect for couples or solo travelers. You won’t have a lake view, but you’ll enjoy a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

18 sqm Japanese-style Room

Look out over Lake Towada and the changing mountain colors from this spacious Japanese-style room. The diagonal lake view adds a touch of magic. This room fits families or small groups comfortably.

Twin Room

Unwind in a large twin room that offers a full lake view. Watch the seasons unfold from your window. This room works well for couples, and you can add extra beds for families of up to four.

Each room includes a bath, toilet, air conditioning, television, Wi-Fi, and a safe. Some rooms have traditional Japanese features like tatami floors and low tables, while others feel more modern.

All rooms are non-smoking. Access to the second floor is by stairs.

Dining

The hotel’s cuisine focuses on freshness, creativity, and a deep love for the local ingredients of Aomori and Akita. Each dish is crafted to reflect the changing seasons.

Dinner

Enjoy an original set meal that blends flavors from both prefectures. You might taste salt-grilled Himemasu (a local trout), vinegared apple dishes made with Aomori fruit, steamed local vegetables, and the regional favorite—Kiritanpo Hot Pot. Some menus also include miso gratin, scallop wine sauce, and sashimi.

Every plate is arranged with visual care and prepared with homemade touches. Dinner takes place in the first-floor restaurant between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Breakfast

Start your day with a beautifully arranged Japanese breakfast served on a plate shaped like Aomori. Each item is carefully selected and prepared to reflect the local land. Breakfast is available from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the restaurant.

Other Dining Options

You can also try handmade apple pie from the hotel’s sister store, Towada Lake Marine Blue. This pie is a local favorite and a perfect treat to bring home. For drinks, the hotel offers wine made from Aomori apples or mountain grapes.

Onsen and Wellness

The hotel’s indoor baths use water from Towada Lakeside Hot Spring, a gentle and skin-friendly hydrogen carbonate spring. The soothing scent of Aomori Hiba (a native cypress tree) fills the air. Float in the warm water and breathe in the natural aroma of hinokitiol-rich leaves.

Both men’s and women’s baths are open from 3:00 PM to 9:00 AM the next morning. These baths do not include outdoor soaking areas or saunas, but the relaxing scent and warmth offer everything you need to unwind.

Guests with tattoos

Guests with tattoos can use the public baths without concern. The hotel does not restrict entry based on tattoos.
