Overview
Escape to the mountains of Myoko at LOTTE ARAI RESORT, an expansive year-round retreat where skiing, outdoor adventure, hot spring bathing, and resort dining come together in one destination. With 257 rooms spread across several connected buildings, you can enjoy an active holiday without giving up the space and services that make it easy to relax.
In winter, you can step from the resort into deep powder, groomed slopes, and freeride terrain on Mount Okenashi. When the snow melts, the mountain opens for forest adventures, zip-line experiences, buggy rides, and family activities. Between outings, you can soak beneath the sky at Hoshizora Onsen, swim in the pool, or settle down for a meal prepared with ingredients from Niigata and nearby coastal waters.
Accommodation
Choose from rooms in the ARAI, Lodge, Club, and Nest buildings. The ARAI Building offers practical rooms measuring around 23 to 31 square metres, while the Lodge, Club, and Nest buildings provide larger Deluxe and Superior rooms with wood furniture, warm interiors, and views of Mount Okenashi or the surrounding forest.
The 34.3-square-metre Deluxe Twin gives you two beds and a comfortable sitting area. Family Twin rooms offer more flexible sleeping arrangements, while Double Twin and Quadruple rooms provide generous space when you are travelling together.
Suites add a separate living room, giving you room to spread out during a longer stay. The Grand Premier Suite suits an extended mountain holiday, while the Presidential Suite includes large bedrooms, a dining room, a kitchen, and a private jacuzzi.
A Koala’s March character room brings playful decorations, themed bedding, cushions, wallpaper, and small details inspired by the popular LOTTE character. Its location close to the kids’ play area makes it an appealing choice for a family trip.
Your room includes free Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning, a television, refrigerator, electric kettle, tea set, safe, slippers, towels, sleepwear, and toiletries. The outlook and exact equipment depend on your selected room category.
Dining
Start your morning at The Plate, where a buffet brings together Japanese and Western breakfast dishes. Freshly prepared hot food, bread, vegetables, seafood, fruit, and desserts give you plenty of choice before a day on the mountain.
At dinner, The Plate serves an international buffet with ingredients from Niigata and fish from nearby waters. Live cooking adds freshly finished dishes, while the market-style section offers salads, vegetables, and house-made dressings.
Japanese Restaurant Asahi focuses on carefully prepared Japanese cuisine in the Lodge Building. You can enjoy seasonal seafood, vegetables, rice, soup, and dishes shaped by Niigata’s food culture.
For a meat-centred dinner, Steak House BECO serves charcoal-grilled cuts in a more intimate setting. The resort also has a shabu-shabu restaurant where you can cook selected Akagi wagyu and vegetables at your table.
Myoko Coffee offers freshly brewed drinks, desserts, and light food, while Bar Ruri gives you a comfortable place for an evening drink. During the ski season, Sky Restaurant Zen serves casual meals beside the slopes. Restaurant schedules and available venues change according to the season.
Onsen and Wellness
Hoshizora Onsen draws natural water from around 1,750 metres below ground. The mildly alkaline, hypotonic spring has a smooth feel and helps your skin retain moisture, making it especially welcome after skiing, hiking, or a day of mountain activities.
Separate bathing areas include spacious indoor baths and open-air rock baths. Outside, you can soak beneath the daytime sky or enjoy the stars after dark. The bathing complex also includes sauna facilities and a waterfall-style shower that directs warm water onto tired shoulders and muscles.
Hoshizora Pool provides an indoor swimming area throughout the year. Additional outdoor pools and a water slide normally open during the summer season. SPA MANNA brings warm bathing, pool time, sauna facilities, and quiet relaxation together in a separate wellness setting.
A fitness club includes cardio and strength-training equipment, along with a stretching area suited to yoga and gentle exercise.
Guests with Tattoos
You can use the shared indoor and open-air baths at Hoshizora Onsen if you have tattoos. You do not need to cover them.
Facilities
The resort includes a kids’ room, library, souvenir shops, sports shops, business spaces, meeting rooms, and banquet facilities. Free Wi-Fi covers the property, while 24-hour coin laundries make longer stays and ski holidays easier.
During winter, SALOMON STATION and SALOMON STATION+ provide ski and snowboard rental equipment. You can also arrange equipment tuning, storage, lessons, and mountain guiding without leaving the resort. English-language ski and snowboard lessons are available for levels ranging from complete beginner to advanced.
A gym, indoor pool, hot spring complex, cafés, bars, ski restaurants, and several dinner venues give you plenty to do without travelling into town. On-site parking is available when you arrive by car.
Activities
Winter places you directly beside the slopes of LOTTE ARAI SNOW RESORT. You can explore groomed runs, deep powder, freeride zones, and challenging terrain across Mount Okenashi. Lessons, rental equipment, tuning services, and guided mountain experiences help you make the most of the snow, whether you are learning your first turns or searching for more advanced routes.
Night skiing operates on selected dates, allowing you to continue after sunset. Snow play areas and family activities also give you ways to enjoy winter without spending the entire day skiing or snowboarding.
During the green season, try the Tree Adventure course as you cross ropes and obstacles between the trees before finishing with a zip-line descent. A separate 170-metre zip line carries you through the forest, while Wild Buggy Adventure lets you drive through the resort’s mountain landscape.
Tubing, indoor sports, board games, pool time, and family play areas provide alternatives when you want an easier day or the weather changes. Seasonal passes may combine several outdoor and indoor activities into one day of adventure.
